@MartinSleziak Bear in mind that it was his first in-person speech to the Tory conference since the 2019 election - and he’s preaching to the converted. This was a victory lap playing to the crowd, not a serious policy speech. It’s interesting contrasting it with Starmer’s speech to Labour’s conference though.
There’s not an election (planned) for a while either, so one shouldn’t expect too much substance. Substance would have been nice though! I think there was one new policy announcement relating to bonuses for teachers, which turned out to be a rehashing of an old cancelled policy…
