2:39 AM
@MartinEnder 1 more HP than needed :)
who was the final boss?

1 hour later…
3:56 AM
I downloaded the stuff needed to run it: It really is mesmerizing
To be clear: The AI isn't all that interesting: the interesting bit is the fact that we've now have mods that allow running an AI

4:46 AM
@NathanMerrill Pebj

@MartinEnder who is that?

5:05 AM
Rot13

I did, but I don't recognize that name :)
Did you start with 1,2, or 3 enemies?

3
I'm just going by the achievement's name

ah ok :)

I think the actual mob name is "njnxrarq bar"

I don't understand that reference then.
yeah, that's the name I know :)
That was on silent? That feels like the easiest boss for silent. I imagine you didn't run into his "ability" much

5:12 AM
Do you mean the ability implied by his name? If so yeah I'm not even entirely sure what it changes.

no, sorry. Before that ability, he has a power.
power is a much better word :)
anyways, my point being, I think you got lucky with the boss :)
I don't actually know what your deck looked like.
If you do want to discuss it, I recommend spirelogs.com
It lets you upload your run and it shows me your deck as well as most of the choices you made along the way

2 hours later…
7:33 AM
and yeah, I expect I got lucky with both my deck/relics and the final boss to make it through on the second attempt.

4 hours later…
11:17 AM
Tried a run with the third class and died to the second boss. I started another run with them. I find their mechanics really interesting, but I don't think I have a good grasp yet on how to play them well.

12:09 PM
3rd boy is weird.
There's a lot of trap/very sub-optimal choices for him at each turn

1 hour later…
1:17 PM
Managed to win my second run with him.

1:59 PM
@MartinEnder I love that username.
you are so lucky

@MartinEnder "Defeated Gremlin Nob in 4 turns (6 damage)" How did you manage that

that's a very good question

oooh, and wrist blade and finisher both really good

Probably just had a strong turn with Adrenaline.

2:04 PM
ok, here's a question: Why did you skip Footwork?

Probably because I was playing barely any defensive cards.
Also probably didn't realise that it gives a permanent buff.

wow, you picked up calling bell. This isn't a criticism, because it turned out well for you, but I don't think I've ever picked that one
it makes sense: you were getting max HP, and those relics turned out great for you

I probably wouldn't have if I didn't have the Darkstone Periapt

yeah. Philospher's Stone is a really good relic too, especially for the way you were playing
oh man and ornamental fan

yeah :D although that floor was also the big mistake where I should have removed a curse instead of spending all gold on cards and items

2:14 PM
You skipped Infinite blades?
Anyways, that was a lucky run, but I don't think it was crazy lucky.
you have to get lucky to win, and that was an appropriate amount of luck

Hmmm, apparently. Not sure why. I feel like I was avoiding non-Attack cards at that point for some reason and maybe felt like I was already drawing my Infinite Blades enough.

I feel like unless you can buy a really dope relic, you should pretty much always remove a card. Especially with curses

2:45 PM
@NathanMerrill do you have any comments on the other run?

3:13 PM
@Veskah I actually disagree with that. Smaller decks have been less of a priority recently.
I've started buying more potions (which, btw I was very surprised to see you buy one @MartinEnder . It took me forever to start using potions outside of the "I'm going to die, what potions can I use")
I mean, I still remove cards, but it's been less of a priority.

I need to break the "Only use when I have 3 and/or about to get rekt"

I tend to save them up for bosses and elites.

@MartinEnder yeah, sorry, was busy. forthcoming

no rush :)

oooh, a turn 1 stone calendar. It's a great relic, especially on turn 1
Floor 6, you picked double energy, I think that was a mistake
You don't need that energy, as you aren't drawing enough cards, and FTL and Consume are both fantastic cards
yeah, you've bought 3 energy cards by turn 11, and nothing to use them on
you got so lucky to pick up Multicast

3:21 PM
FTL is a very gud card

Lots of resting, I'm assuming for that runic dodecahedron
@MartinEnder I agree with you here. I think the only two reasons you won this game is (1) 2 multicast cards, and (2) you rested a lot
Having a full HP bar is really powerful, at least in your first couple runs.

Feels getting the Gob Nob right before a bed
+Bad

@NathanMerrill 3 Multi-Cast ;)

oh I missed the 3rd one. You're right :)

it took me a long time to make use of that double energy, but it was pretty amazing towards the end (which is also why I picked up another one)

3:25 PM
Sure. double energy is a great card end game, especially with multicast and plasma core
especially if it is upgraded

and yeah, I was resting a lot because of that dodecahedron

But you can use multicast as a double energy anyways :)

well... situationally
and I never had a situation where that really would have made sense

no, I agree. It's not super realistic.
but it sure is fun to hit the maximum 99 energy

haha
I got to 16, I think

3:32 PM
FYI: I think the defect is a very hit-or-miss character. When the defect wins, you're usually an unstoppable force. It's possible to have a close run with him, but I've found it's pretty unlikely

Well, guess I'll try to win an Ironclad run then and see what happens :)

@NathanMerrill Yep
