@DestructibleLemon Can't now

It's occurred to me that IMO, combat is the least fun part of factorio. It's pretty much only an annoyance. So I'm starting over to play a peaceful world where I can feel the freedom to tweak to my hearts content without constantly being stressed out by attacks

@DJMcMayhem I agree - on my megabase save, I turned off biters completely. No biters, pollution, or evolution also saves UPS

Also I remembered that someone requested to see my Lazy Bastard base. I'm using the Factorio Maps mod to make a pretty neat Google Maps-like map of it. It's taking a while to run.

@DJMcMayhem I've considered going the exact opposite: A death world, where the entire point is to build fast enough to survive against the biters
but plain old building seems more fun

I will do my best to explain my insane design choices, but bear in mind that even I don't fully understand them

@Mego I'm rather surprised at how well organized it is without a main belt
I think that your furnace array that requires 3 splitters and 2 underground belts for every 4 machines is pretty ridiculous
I have no idea why you didn't just go a double middle belt with underground belts
wait, no, you need 4 underground belts for every 4 machines
I don't think you can run both blue and purple science at max capacity. You've got 12 assemblers making engines (12 every 10 seconds) and 12 assemblers making blue science (which takes 12 every 12 seconds). So, in essence, you have 2 engines left over for electric engines which isn't enough for purple science
now, you've got two productivity 1s on each of those, so the calculations are definitely messed up, but I still don't think the math adds up
finally, I have no idea why that's 3GB.

In case anyone was waiting for it, Opus Magnum has left Early Access.

I had a sort-of main bus for most of the playthrough. I tore it down for bot-based production once I got ready to make the rocket. The furnace array uses the splitters and underground belts to fully compress the output and not have its output throughput limited by backups. Blue and purple science aren’t produced at the same pace as the others, yes. That’s a limitation of the blueprint that I used. The map is 3 GB because it consists of over 1000 images at various zoom levels.

@Mego as far as I can tell, the only thing underground belts and splitters do is allow you to insert the items onto two belts vs 1.
The splitters will balance the output onto those two belts, but I'd personally just have a single red belt or put a balancer in the middle of two yellow belts (not on the side)
