Wow, that Legend of Zelda randomizer was an amazing race.

14 hours later…
2:58 PM
@DJMcMayhem Hah, Serious Poulp just posted an update on when the online store goes live and also that they've finally worked out a way to produce a (somewhat reduced) retail version: kickstarter.com/projects/1926712971/… (and while they're at it, they've teased their next game based on the same system)

Risk of Rain has 4 days to release a new character if they want to stay on their (relatively) lax release schedule
Seems unlikely considering they just dropped a content patch yesterday
>Just continues to prove the rule of "If a kickstarter game is really good, it will eventually find its way to retail."
Yes, random commentor, that's how business works. Do you want them to dump remaining stock into the ocean and never print it again?

@Veskah 1 or 2?

2. It's still in EA

4:40 PM
@Veskah that's not what they're referring to. It's about the retail ("Classic") version they mention at the end, which they're going to produce exclusively for retail (after saying for years that it would never be feasible to produce the game outside of a Kickstarter campaign).
s/exclusively/specifically/

Well them saying "nonono" is them blowing smoke up the KS kids' ass.
Them doing a 180 after making fat stacks should shock no one.
Interest-free loans are a hell of a drug

5:44 PM
Also, stuff designed for retail that has KS-exclusive additional game material (not simply better components or the like) that never becomes offered anywhere is lame.

It's just like a pre-order bonus for video games. I see nothing wrong with it.

Non-cosmetic Pre-order bonuses for video games that are unobtainable are also lame
Even moreso now that I think about it.

6:19 PM
Homie joins 2 and half hours late to a 4 hour tourney.
From the comments: >NO passion for chess. Its lots of work. Thought i think that Carlsen have the good kind of autism, that makes you super human :D
I'm slain

6:35 PM
Wowza. Not only did Carlsen join that late, this is a Bullet tournament where each player gets 1 minute total max for all their moves, but he's going berserk on each and every game, which cuts his time in half to 30 seconds (and gives him an extra point for wins).

6:54 PM
I'd be curious to see what you folks score on this (although be warned it's like a 30 minute test)
I got 1506. Isn't that basically the definition of average?

Yeah, 1500 is the starting point for Elo.

Well, at least I have a frame of reference now! lol
It's hard to judge my own ability since I've played with family members and beginners so often, so it feels like I'm really good at chess, when obviously that isn't true

yeah
IIRC I was around 1600 in the past.
