Who needs energy relics when you have hovering kite?

what's that do?

Gives you an extra energy the first time you discard a card each turn. (Silent only)

nice

Which is great with dagger spray

@DJMcMayhem does dagger spray discard now?

Was it Knife Throw that discards? Can't remember anymore, Do N dmg, -1 card, then draw?

what is Knife Throw? I've never heard of that card.
oh! Dagger throw
yes it does

Yeah, that's the ticket

3:36 PM
@NathanMerrill Yeah, that's what I meant
@Veskah 9 damage, draw a card, discard a card

I really like calculated gamble
That's easily my favorite discard card

@DJMcMayhem Do you know the YouTube channel The Sound Test? The guy does these crazy long in-depth podcast/interview things about video game music. I started following him because the current season is going to contain videos about Hollow Knight and Ori (though those aren't out yet), but he just released one about No Man's Sky a few days ago and it's really good so far.

I just looked and I couldn't find that channel. When I search "The sound test", I get results for sound tests

@DJMcMayhem You can filter to channels. :)

I just get video unavailable :(

10:38 PM
Ah, cool

I wonder where he takes the motivation/time/money from to do these if they only gather a handful of views

I'll make sure to check it out!

I guess since they're podcasts they might be available on other platforms where they get more attention
for some reason I've never bothered to actually look at the playlist of season 1 but it's got Banjo-Kazooie (with Grant Kirkhope) and Donkey Kong Country (with David Wise). I absolutely need to check these out :D

@MartinEnder ooooh...this gives me a really good idea. You know how No Man's Sky has procedurally generated levels by randomly picking particular elements and putting them together: you can do the same with music

Oooooh

10:51 PM
come up with 100 or so distinct music parts that follow the same sequence.
And then randomly pick which ones go together
fresh, generated music, that all feels like it follows the same thing
Especially if you are able to dynamically speed up/slow down and/or modulate
Maybe you'd need to do 2-3 different sequences so players don't catch on too fast

I mean... that's kinda how the soundtrack works.

oh. Maybe I'll have to finish the video. I'm still in the middle of the video :)

A simpler form of this is Eluvium's Shuffle Drones album. It's 20-30 short ambient segments that all start/end on the same synth chord so you can put it on shuffle/repeat and get an endlessly looping and never quite repeating ambient track.
The (non-)seams are actually quite noticeable, but it still works really nicely for background music. For a game where you could have your own shuffling logic, and even dynamically mix different tracks together you can do much more elaborate stuff.

That reminds me of the Infinite Jukebox. Amazing site.
Oh wait, seems to be back? infinitejukebox.playlistmachinery.com
Hmm, no song upload. :(
Ah, the song analysis service that it used shut down three years ago. :( reddit.com/r/infinitejukebox/comments/4cmr4f/…

@El'endiaStarman I remember that!
