Let me explain my method
(IE)(TRPL)
Therfore number of ways = $\dbinom{2}{1}\times \dbinom{4}{1} \times 2^3$
First choose onevowel.
Then one cons.
Then the rest have 2 choices each. - enter the group or not.
Why is this wrong @LeakyNun?

@LeakyNun the only constrain is 1 vowel, 1 const should be there.
you can also have 2 vowels 1 const
then 1 vowel 3 const
etc..
