What to do with/who are: users who join a chatroom, do not have a profile, are called user(numbers..), do not talk and do not leave? For example this one.

@vitamind If you are a room-owner and they have sufficient rep to chat but don't, then you could ask why they are there, and then if they fail to respond and still stay around you can let moderators know. Some trolls do that, whether with their own account or with sockpuppets.

The user only had 1rep.

Do note that users with <25rep can't talk even though they can join. SE programmers refuse to fix this bug since many many years ago.

Why is that?

Q: Prevent low-rep (readonly) chat users from showing up in user lists

ThiefMasterYesterday we had quite an invasion of nazi/swastika-avatared trolls in chat. Of course none of them could talk since they all had 1 rep, but with such avatars them showing up in the user list is already annoying enough (and pretty offensive to some people). It would be useful if users who cannot...

@vitamind Arrogance + Unhelpfulness?

@user21820 idk. it's simply annoying. the argument that "new users can jump in but not talk etc." is weak. there's a way higher possibility that they are trolls or sockpuppets than "real users". Also - it is very easy to ear 20 rep, 10 edits would already suffice.

@vitamind Exactly. Hence my tentative hypothesis for "why that is".

I see. Thanks @user21820!

You're welcome. It annoys me too, and it's not a fantasy or isolated incident because there are real trolls that do that from time to time.
