@LalitTolani Personally, I think that the question should be let off the hook---there is context (the link to what Jyrki calls "the famous integral thread" (though "infamous" might be more appropriate)), and the thread relates to something which might be considered historically relevant to the site.
@XanderHenderson You're saying that as long as the question relates to a post having historical relevance, some effort can be shown? What I mean with the effort is that, questions relating historically relevant posts need some effort, but not as much as if it didn't relate to that post.

@soupless The standard is that context must be present. Effort is not a synonym of context.
And, again, my response there is my opinion as an individual, not my decree as a moderator.
