They undoubtedly had to make some concessions, I just hope they were small and mostly unimportant.

From my understanding, limiting use of generative AI and minimum staffing were the two big asks.

Were streaming residuals part of the issue for the writers? Or was that just the actors' guild?

Both I think, but part of it for the writers would be included in the minimum staffing. They want "Staff Writer" or "Series Writer" credits, particularly for shorter seasons that are now common in streaming and premium cable.
Basically, they want everyone in the writers room to get some credit on each episode, not just the one or two people who get the episode written by credit.

From what I read: Tentative means it needs to be voted upon first by the membership, and publicizing the details would make stuff harder so they didn't
That is, the union knows what the deal is - the press does not :P

which would be good because then LastWeekTonight Resumes
2 hour long special with a part on the strike and the conclusion to the Writer's side of it and then the rest just speed run all the topics they wanted to do during the strike
