> "it's difficult for counsel to work next to pro se litigants," james kolenich says. "i have no idea what these two think they're doing," he says of cantwell & spencer.
things are proceeding about as normally as can be expected in Sines v Kessler
I forget why spencer is pro se but cantwell is pro se for non-payment and because he wouldn't stop threatening opposing counsel
also the above was in jury selection, a juror straight up said "I am biased against the defense, I believe they are evil, and I would find it difficult to set that aside", judge goes "alright I think this guy can be excused for cause right?" but cantwell and spencer wanted to hear more

@Unionhawk Didn't the judge just rule that they can't call the murder victims, well, victims because it's too loaded a term, but they are allowed to call them "rioters, arsonists and looters"?

I don't think that's a thing and in any case James Fields is not a party

Oh wait, sorry, I'm mixing up cases
That was in the Kyle Rittenhouse case

he is currently in prison for first degree murder and 29 counts of federal hate crimes

@Unionhawk I was mixing up cases, sorry

4:50 PM
@Unionhawk lol, this is jury selection not a "debate" room
if some dude disqualifies themselves because they think you're evil, you take it

@Yuuki yeah the judge was just like "no fuck off I will not entertain whatever the hell this is 235 is dismissed"

@Unionhawk It's odd how one judge does that, while another judge in a different case does what I just said above
Like, it's not even as if the term "victim" is actually loaded, because it's literally what prosecutors have been using for decades now, if not centuries

6:23 PM
to be fair it helps Mr. Kessler and others in this case, and Kolenich for the defense was like "your honor please no"
meanwhile plantiff's side was going for the tried and true strategy of being very quiet while your opponent is making a mistake
sun tzu, the art of war, "do not stop your enemy from punching themself in the face"
it'll be fun to watch as it goes on because the guys on defense all hate each other

@Unionhawk I like those threads on Reddit that are essentially "Lawyers of Reddit, have you ever won a case because your opponent accidentally proved you wrong?"

christ they're going to a third day of selection
currently 10 empaneled, desired number 12, one of defense's strikes is facing a challenge (you're allowed to use peremptory strikes for any reason other than racism or sexism, and plantiffs are arguing that the nazis did a racism)
(yes I can call them that because the actual national socialist movement is a party)
