Nova scotia is sitting at 70% citizens with first dose, an 79% of eligible citizens with first dose...there's some pretty huge drops in lower age brackets though.
60+ is 90%....18-29 is only 49%.
We've also been doing it by age, so 18-29 has had the fewest time to get the vaccine... but still, a little worried we're going to cap out where we are now.
All of the appointments are booked... but they are all allowing folks to book second doses now, so impossible to know how much of that is first vs second dose.

@Wipqozn There's no real point in making conclusions based on first doses. You really need that second dose to be protected, especially against variants

They're doing 18-30 age appointments now in the UK and there doesn't seem to be any indication that they're less likely to get the vaccine

@Nzall The conclusion I'm drawing is that our fully vaccinated population can not exceed whatever the percentage of people with the first dosage are.
@Ronan Yeah I'm hoping this is just a result of younger folks having trouble booking the vaccine due to high demand.

I think Belgium really does it the right way: instead of asking people to book their own appointment, everyone gets an invite with a proposed date, and people can either accept, refuse or move the appointment.

@Nzall So we're kind of doing both.
Your second appointment is automatically scheduled 105 days after your first. If you rescheduled your first appointment, though, you need to book the second one manually. Also, they've been moving up second dose appointments, so folks with a second booked have been getting invites to book thir second earlier.

Over here we get an invite in the mail with dates, or we can be slightly faster and make our own appointment via a website

@Elva "over here" being Netherlands, right? Our system is pretty much the same: you can wait for an appointment or place yourself on the QVAX backup list, and if there are vaccines left at the end of the day you can be summoned early
