@Unionhawk lol okay I was going to say "Yeah parking in cities is fucking garbage, I can understand being frusrated." but then "IT'S THE HEART OF OUR COMMUNITY!"
You know, I think they've got some motives behind "We just really need the parking!"
Trump hints at 2024 run, repeats election falsehoods at conservative conference cbc.ca/news/world/…
> Former U.S. president Donald Trump on Sunday hinted at a possible run for president in 2024, attacked President Joe Biden and repeated his fraudulent claims that he won the 2020 election in his first major appearance since leaving the White House nearly six weeks ago.
> "We have a very sick and corrupt electoral process that has to be fixed immediately. This election was rigged," Trump said. "And the Supreme Court and other courts didn't want to do anything about it."
Yes your system is corrupt. You know, due to all the gerrymandering and voter suppression the GOP commits.
Also Trump has once again been empowered by the GOPs refusal to hold him accountable for his actions. How much longer do you think until his supporters storm the Capitol again?

1:20 AM
it's alot of what you would already expect. Lying about the election, Lying about COVID, Lying about his achievements, hinting (but not confirming) 2024
though i am surprised at myself for being surprised at the transphobia

@Wipqozn i think it says something about your community when its heart is a parking lot

5:41 AM
Just say that you don't want unhoused people in your neighborhood and go don't be out here on tv talking about how important this empty lot is lol

France's Sarkozy convicted of corruption, sentenced to jail apnews.com/article/…

1:52 PM
> The union boss cited "a lack of trust in our leadership who clearly failed us on January 6th" and said other agencies "offer better working conditions and better retirement benefits" than the U.S. Capitol Police force.
Um, color me shocked?

2:19 PM
That's true, other departments let their guys take vacation time for travel that day

> Just a reminder: The murderer of George Floyd - Derek Chauvin - will stand trial on MARCH 8, 2021!
Meanwhile, riot preparations are underway at the courthouse.

@Wipqozn You can just do that? gasps

2:36 PM
:O

2:54 PM
@TimStone Wild, I know.

1 hour later…
4:19 PM
> “The press doesn’t like to talk about it, but the real number was much, much bigger... It was tremendous numbers of people, not the Capitol, I’m talking about the rally itself, and it was a lovefest, it was a beautiful thing.”
never-ending nightmare

I honestly don't get why anyone cares about what he has to say

As long as almost half the country appears to still believe him, he is still a danger to democracy around the globe.

Highly likely to be the GOP 2024 nominee as well

it's wild

4:36 PM
Hmm. Intentional or coincidence?

i would hope it is a coincidence

At any rate, I don't think it does us any good to assume bad intent.

@TheMattbat999 It probably is. I've seen this stage format before - it's a bit weird but for a large event it allows the presenter to be closer to a larger number of the audience
Although this stage looks tiny. The ones I've seen are for very large concerts. For smaller venues there's not as much benefit

1 hour later…
7:29 PM
What bothers me about that is that whether or not it's a coincidence, nobody involved looked at that and said "maybe we should remove the inner border around the podium and make the whole carpet blue so that it doesn't look like a Nazi symbol"

I doubt they even realzed that
I've never seen that symbol before tbh
Although then again it's the GOP and ted Cruz so who knows

Honestly, I haven't either. But I believe that the GOP is unfamiliar with Nazi symbols about as much as I believe that HHS under Trump coincidentally lost 1,488 immigrant children

@PrivatePansy What better way to spread the COV- err love

9:20 PM
> There’s a relatively wide partisan divide in early perceptions of Biden’s presidency, with an overwhelming majority of Democrats approving of his job performance and most Republicans disapproving. Still, nearly one-third of GOP voters — 31 percent — said they approve of Biden’s handling of his job.

@Jolenealaska Considering roughly 40% of Americans are die-hard Trump fetishists who would only approve of a president if it was Trump, I'd say this is as close as you can get to universal approval right now.

Yup. I was pleasantly surprised to see that.

10:01 PM
@Nzall Heh. The responsible thing to do would not to be have the event at all, but what can you do...
