Texas is leading the US in voter turnout right now?

12:36 AM
Voter Turnout is all that Matters right now.
RIP

1:12 AM
thanks I hate it

@TimStone My word I hate your politics
It's exhausting

1:41 AM
@Wipqozn Damn straight it is. I'm a wreck.

1 hour later…
3:10 AM
I just found out that Alaska won't count mail-in ballots (how I voted) until a week after the election. Dammit.

3:38 AM
@Jolenealaska that COVID bit sounds a bit conspiracy like

Yes. And the English is a bit broken too

4:47 AM
@Jolenealaska "We have evidence that discredits Mr. Trump as President" I could get that just by watching the news

Hmm, I wonder what this is about?

White House lists ending Covid-19 pandemic as an accomplishment despite cases spiking to record levels cnn.com/2020/10/27/politics/…
WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
Just tossed that 1984 quote there for unrelated reasons.
> "Highlights include: ENDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC," the news release sent to reporters read. "From the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Administration has taken decisive actions to engage scientists and health professionals in academia, industry, and government to understand, treat, and defeat the disease."
> The news release comes as the country reports the largest number of daily cases seen to date. The seven-day average of daily new cases reached an all-time high of 68,767 on Sunday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The previous record of 67,293 was set July 22.

Hundreds of Trump supporters stuck in the cold for hours when buses can’t reach Omaha rally washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/10/28/…
INJECT IT DIRECTLY INTO MY VEEEIIIINNNNS
> “President Trump took off in Air Force One 1 hr 20 minutes ago, but thousands of his supporters remain stranded on a dark road outside the rally,” tweeted CNN’s Jeff Zeleny.
> The crowds didn’t fully clear the rally site until after 12:30 a.m. — more than 3½ hours after Trump departed — Sanderford reported.
> At least seven people were taken to hospitals, according to Omaha Scanner, which monitors official radio traffic. Police and fire authorities didn’t immediately return messages from The Washington Post early Wednesday and declined to provide reporters on the scene with precise numbers of how many needed treatment.
Golly gee sure does seem like Trump doesn't care about you at all
Best vote for him

2:07 PM
@Jolenealaska The common consensus was that he might be on blood medications for any number of fairly unremarkable conditions for someone of his age but also he probably burned his hands while strangling satan to take control of hell

SUNDAY Sunday sunday
Frickin' Ted Cruz

2:46 PM
@TimStone The weekenders was such a good show

Would you be lost after all the hype is gone after the election?

3 hours later…

Did, uh, 8% of this county catch covid-19 in one week!?

@PrivatePansy What's the population of that county? If it's ~200, that would mean only ~16 people caught Covid-19, which would be possible from a single super spreader event.

> Bon Homme County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 7,070
7070 * (0.084) = 593.8
That's... pretty bad

@PrivatePansy the numbers seem wrong (unless those are tiny regions with a significant outbreak). Right now we have something like ~200 per 100k in the last 7 days in many cities, 8k seems extremely high

@MadScientist Working backwards, that's ~600 cases. It's very large, but not implausible. It could also be a data reporting issue (all cases for the last month got reported this week instead)

Tim
Since a month ago, countless food aid boxes have been distributed daily to families around US, with a letter from the president. How will that play out for the election?
The campaign has been working more effectively than what the MSM says

@TimStone we'll see which one of the despicable opportunists it'll be, though it really doesn't matter. The reaction of Trump on this could be entertaining, though

I have to admit that I would find it extremely funny if it was Jared

no chance

who's that?

7:26 PM
@MadScientist Look it would be very 2020 but instead it's this guy who I don't know who it is

you don't know him either?
so it's a fucking irrelevant, despicable opportunist?

Miles Taylor is an American former government official who specialises in security and international relations. He was formerly a Trump administration appointee who served in the United States Department of Homeland Security from 2017 to 2019, including as Chief of Staff to former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Acting Secretary Chad Wolf. In August 2020, while on leave from his job at Google, he produced an ad for Republican Voters Against Trump, denouncing Trump and endorsing Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Taylor was the first former senior Trump administration...

Wait, so anonymous as in the source of the various WH leaks over the months, or QAnon?

the former
The one who wrote the NY Times op-ed and a book and whatever

Ah. That op-ed. What was that, ten years ago?

7:28 PM
@MadScientist Correct
I mean I guess he did technically do something before now given he no longer works for the administration and endorsed Biden but I don't see why we care?

I still can't believe the election is in less than a week.
everything feels more like an endless nightmare recently

Of course, since he was chief of staff at DHS during gestures broadly, he was presumably party to some of the most heinous shit they've done so far, but I'd be surprised if he had anything additional to add
> “What will he do when there is no person to attack, only an idea?” We got the answer. He became unhinged. And the ideas stood on their own two feet
I mean
ehhhh
But also I guess that's kinda true it is extremely funny when he can't sidestep and throw barbs at a person
You know who we needed to hear from even less than this guy though?
Hillary Clinton
AND YET!

8:09 PM
@TimStone Wanna hear something really funny? I worked for NSA during the first Gulf War. In the basement
I started and ended my shift in a safe where we did shift change.

:O

@TimStone Is this... literally what the EFF warns about adding backdoors to encryption? Like textbook worst case scenario, where not only did not help, but actually gave adversaries a way into our systems

Yep

@TimStone is that about the elliptic curve random number generator from the NSA?

8:38 PM
Yeah

@TimStone wait, "refused to stop". That means they're still counted, right?

@Nzall Nope

@Nzall That means that they're still counted for the moment until someone comes up with a new way to throw them out since PA for some reason is separating them
I would simply not do that, but y'know

Oh, I misunderstood

It's weird though: apparently they voted different than in the WI case which was effectively the same thing, and the difference here is that PA is a state SC ruling on a state's law, while in WI it was a federal court ruling
And that was enough for Roberts to say it's different

10:19 PM
lol

10:32 PM
As Twitter has noted this isn't even really far-fetched considering if he had gone through prepublication review he presumably would not have been anonymous, so 🤷‍♂️

@TimStone voting is where roberts is at his most conservative so he's up to something here
possibly trying to signal that hey :) we're moderate it's fine

@TimStone Are American girl scouts as terrible as the american boy scouts? Because I know the american boy scouts are really friggin bad.

Remember when Trump told the boat story to the boy scouts?

Not really

10:44 PM
@Wipqozn It was in 2017, to the Boy Scouts annual national Jamboree. He told a story, meandering as usual, but one of the parts was about William Levitt's sex yacht
Quote from WaPo article:
> “He went out and bought a big yacht, and he had a very interesting life,” Trump said, emphasizing the “interesting” suggestively. “I won’t go any more than that, because you’re Boy Scouts, so I’m not going to tell you what he did,” the president continued, before asking, “Should I tell you? Should I tell you? You’re Boy Scouts, but you know life. You know life.”

Ah yes, that was a thing that happened

More extensive article from NY post: nypost.com/2020/10/28/…
And now I'm really off to bed

11:01 PM
I'd like to go to bed now and not wake up until January 20. If Trump is still president, I'd like to sleep for 4 more years.

Kim Kardashian West mocked for 'humble' birthday party on private island bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-54714660
Just in case you needed a reminder of how trash her and her entire family is
> "I realise that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is."
Yeah, covid is the reason why private island parties are out of reach for most people

> that is so far out of reach right now
> party on private island

I really wish people would stop worshipping the ground this family walks on

that's a level of privilege that predate COVID

> Another Twitter user reposted one of the photos, in which a member of catering staff wears a mask, to suggest the ability to "pretend things were normal" at the party didn't extend to workers.
> thinking about the masked server in the background of this 2nd photo, who is likely among many who risked their lives so that kim kardashian could have a birthday party

well it's a good thing their show is ending
*2020 throws a ball into 2021 ready*
i have zero doubt that while Keeping Up with the Kardashins is "ending", what we'll actually see is a rebrand/reboot

@TimStone Thank Zeus
Makes me more optimistic about what post election bullshit they'll pull

@Wipqozn don't hold your breath
> Justice Barrett didn't participate. Thomas, Gorusch, Alito would have granted the GOP application

<crossing fingers> that's still just 4
