I regret to inform you that the Opinions section is at it again
This time it's spins wheel WaPo letting checks notes Turkey's communications directory tell us about rolls dice how it's actually great they're going to genocide the Kurds and we should all go along with it

1:20 AM
Bernie Sanders' daughter-in-law died Saturday following a cancer diagnosis. She was 46. Really rough couple of weeks for them :/

5 hours later…
6:15 AM
@TimStone "Guns don't kill people, People kill People" - Argument disproved

6 hours later…
Reports are that the SDF may turn to Russia for help but
Turkey is NATO so

@Unionhawk Nothing another rash Presidential action can't fix

Ave
@TimStone Trump likes Turkey
He likely won't kick us out of nato

He wanted us to quit NATO though which was more what I was thinking

Ave
@TimStone I see

12:29 PM
I mean everyone else would still be article 5 bound I would think

Yeah but like
Practically, without us, against Russia

True

@TimStone reports are still very confused
target might have been a synagogue or a Döner restaurant or both or none of them.

Ave
1:21 PM
@MadScientist Quoting a reply... "In front of a Synagogue. Grenade thrown at Jewish Cemetery. On Yom Kippur, highest Jewish Holiday."

BBC News - Turkish troops launch offensive into northern Syria, says Erdogan
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-49983357

@Wipqozn So much for a slowdown/walkback by either the White House or GOP senators

1 hour later…
3:35 PM
Hmmm

3:52 PM
> Between January and August this year, RCMP intercepted 10,343 people entering the country from the U.S. outside legal border points, the vast majority of them at Roxham Road. That's down from 14,125 in the same period in 2018.

4:38 PM
Look anyone willing to enter Quebec should just be allowed to stay

user15026
@Wipqozn I swear he's just taking more and more out of Trump's playbook

4:59 PM
@TimStone Yikes. I can't imagine trusting a publication that puts ads on the cover

@Ash Yes
@TimStone Yes

@TimStone I feel like they first need to be read their rights, particularly the right to not have to live in Quebec.
"You... You know you don't have to live here, right...?"
"... eh."

lmfao Jacob Wohl and Burkman are at it again, this time about Harris?
They've like, seen her poll numbers right?

user15026
@TimStone I saw bits about that last night on Twitter, and it made me wonder if they're just like....running down a list, waiting for some of this to actually work :P

@TimStone Yeah, but she's a woman.

5:14 PM
@Ash They're eventually going to get to Andrew Yang having never seen an anime

@TimStone How can Andrew Yang be a real Asian if he's never owned a gong?

@MadScientist Ugh, it does look like a far-right anti-Semitic attack, the gunman apparently livestreamed before the attack

@TimStone I, for one, am shocked.

Looks like he was (miraculously) unable to get in the synagogue and shot a woman and then into the doner shop

5:36 PM
@TimStone they probably had a very secure door, because of this kind of stuff

1 hour later…
6:44 PM
Yeah :/

6:55 PM
Whatever happens to the Kurds, the President was told
@TimStone lol the trainer's name is "Shawn Newaldass" /cc @Unionhawk

sean nudeass

It's like everything is made as dumb as possible so when it all horribly backfires they can just be like "We were joking, obviously!"

they do seem ready to go with the "PARODY" defense
since you know it's probably not a great plan to defame more than one sitting senator
overall

"how can warren and harris be sitting senators if they're standing at podiums giving speeches all the time?" - Wohl, probably

7:18 PM

What in the fresh hell

@Unionhawk what

yeah
also apparently the Mayor Pete and Joe Biden subreddits have discord servers
they're uh, fun places from what I understand
many posters have lost their lives, or at least, their "can post in main channels" roles

huh

7:25 PM
@GnomeSlice I'd guess that's fake

yeah how do you uh

Dead guys head onto another dead body

know that succeeded

or well, what means "successfully" on a corpse?

other than I guess just that you got it done and it hasn't fallen off yet

7:26 PM
Yeah idk it's a dumb headline it's a "practice run" I guess for the real thing but they've done it in a way that they think they can replicate on a live subject
Next will be to try it on brain-dead people apparently.. pretty morbid and weird

@MadScientist Can't die if you're already dead taps newly-transplanted head

I'm pretty certain it's just crap science. I can't believe we're anywhere even close to being able to reattach the nerves in the spine

You may be right

user15026
"Observers criticized the science-by-press conference and said Canavero still has offered no evidence that the biggest hurdle — reconnecting the severed spinal cords from two different people and restoring brain motor function — has been overcome. “To be able to say you can just stick someone else’s head on someone else’s body is not really feasible based on current medical understanding. I’d be very keen to hear his explanation about how we’ve got around these issues,” said Dean Burnett, a neuroscientist and psychiatry lecturer at the Centre for Medical Education at Cardiff University.

user15026
7:36 PM
Yeah, see, that all makes me think that "success" is....not so much actual success of anything proveable

Doesn't look like any new information, per se, but reinforces what we already knew from the transcript and the whistleblower report

user15026
He makes a lot of claims all through this that don't seem to have any sort of backing

Yeah seems you're probably right
It was so creepy i didnt finish reading it

user15026
@GnomeSlice that's entirely fair

The additionally creepy part is uhh in light of the subject the other day did anyone confirm where they got the body from?

user15026
7:38 PM
I also like where the article wonders about this dude's apparent plan to just like brain transplant people into younger bodies, and where those bodies are gonna come from

@Ash Wasn't this a movie?

Yeah, that Brain transplant thing is like copying over the source files for MacOS to an non-Mac system and then saying you successfully transplanted Mac to a Windows machine

In this particular case, it's like moving the hard drive from a MacOS computer to a Windows computer and saying you did it without turning on the power. Or even having a working power supply in the first place.

1 hour later…
Who amongst us hasn't done a vehicular homicide is…huh

He might be referring to driving on the wrong side in the UK, but still

Yeah, I can't imagine he's driven anything more than a golf cart in years, if ever, so I assume he hasn't killed a teen recently except in a drone strike, but what an odd thing to say

9:31 PM
@MadScientist I'm sure there's an emoji for the face I'm making right now but I don't want to look it up.

user15026
@TimStone I was like "I can't see anythign....oh, right, I muted any mention of him"

I mean that's a really good choice honestly
But yeah, sigh :|
Remember when Dennis Rodman fixed everything with North Korea? Do I have news about China

10:32 PM
@TimStone "Impeached, but not Remove"
What

user15026
@Wipqozn I was confused about that as well

@Wipqozn Impeachment is technically a different process then removing him as president.
Think sentencing vs conviction.

user15026
but why would you want to do one but not the other?

Very good question

I guess they want him to step down if he's impeached maybe? I'm not sure on that either

10:36 PM
It could be people on the other side who thinks impeachment without removal would be to his overall benefit
> Polls conducted during 1998 and early 1999 showed that only about one-third of Americans supported Clinton's impeachment or conviction. However, one year later, when it was clear that House impeachment would not lead to the ousting of the President, half of Americans said in a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll that they supported impeachment but 57% approved of the Senate's decision to keep him in office and two thirds of those polled said the impeachment was harmful to the country.

Hahahahahahaha, Trump pressured Tillerson to drop a case into Turkish-Iranian gold trader Reza Zarrab…who, and I'm sure this will be shocking, is a client of Rudy Giuliani
