maybe come October 31st and Boris can't get a No Deal Brexit the the EU just gives them an infinite extension and the UK Parliament just bitches and moans about Brexit until the election and someone steps forward to use the election as a final opinion on whether to leave the EU

From what I understand, the code of military ethics requires you to defy an unlawful order, but it's not clear to me whether an order to drop nukes on (country Trump is annoyed with at the moment), though clearly immoral and horrific, would necessarily be unlawful

But essentially this just contributes to the toxic thing that is tipping culture, where companies don't need to pay their workers a living wage. Or at all.
@BradC The way it works is that DoorDash guarantees a minimum "tip". If the customer's tip covers that minimum, then they just get that tip. If it doesn't, Doordash makes up the diference

Yeah, this is one of those situations where, yes, the cishets™ don't have a monopoly on being horrible people, but on the other hand all of the reporting on this is coming from sources that make it clear they see all trans people as deviant sex criminals

@BradC worst case scenario the order would reach a solider who's fully supportive of Trump (one of his core base who would still believe in Trump even if saw him giving a Boris Johnson to Putin or Kim Jong Un) does it without a second thought
consider now how we've been getting to making it easier to pay with credit cards and now paying with just our phones. when you "tip" with a credit card or your card stored on your phone, your not sipping the server any more, you're tipping the establishment which means that tip goes into the day's normal takings
made even worse by dining apps which you tip through them
will get to a point where apps like DoorDash, UberEats and ManuLog will set the norm for tipping via App and eating establishments will get all their customers who order their meals via a phone while at the table and tip though it giving you no option to give the person your tipping in hand cash
ofcause this all stems from the whole tipping thing. Australia generally doesn't do it because our minimum wage is much higher if i recall

@Ash i think so too however i have been of the belief that it's because of the minimum wage and that when it rises, up to a certain level employees average wage increase as well
so if the US's minimum wage was to rise there's be alot of jobs getting wage rises and not just those on the line

Tldr library has done some good stuff but also makes trans folks feel unsafe so they're out this year, but pride organizers hope they do a better job by next year
@Ash According to the article, the pride organizers have said the library "has engaged in creating a trans-inclusion strategy and made a lot of strides in changes to how they do things, policies and procedures". So the desire to be good is there. Hopefully they stop giving bigotry a space.
