There was a lot of quibbling about crimes Trump might have done in regard to this case but ultimately in most cases you can bring similar but distinct charges regardless, so the question of dual sovereignty really only comes up in situations where the government wants a redo

IIRC, murder is a state offense but not federal (unless you murder a federal official or police officer, I think?).
But kidnapping is both a state and federal offense.
