Greitens has been cleared to return to the Navy, where I'm sure he will definitely not burn off some steam by committing war crimes to appease the President
@TimStone Of note

@HalfEmpty TBF, this statement is in respect to the global production, not the impact on the globe.
(Although the latter is still significant)

> The documents that have been provided so far are a fraction of those requested by Waters, whose committee has also sent subpoenas to Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase. The Royal Bank of Canada is in the process of complying with the subpoena, according to a source. The other banks have missed the subpoena deadline of May 6.
I'm taking this to mean that these aren't duplicates, they're records of Trump's dealings with different banks, which would all be different

3:03 PM
Stephen Calk has been indicted for his backroom dealing with Manafort

@TimStone Wow, that's been a long time coming. The details were pretty shocking in its brazen corruption when they first came out; kind of surprised it took as long as it did
...something something... wheels of justice grinding slowly...

lol wait wait wait, Mnuchin sat on the Sears board that let that Ayn Rand fanboy run it into the ground while embezzling a bunch of cash?

no you see it is because brick and mortar stores are all dying, and not a unique problem with the structure of sears
it's not that hypercompetition in literally all things is not a thing that works

It is very simple, even your proletariat brain should be able to understand. If a business is going well it is the work of the CEO and Board of Directors and they should be rewarded. If a business is doing poorly then it's the fault of people for not buying the products and the CEO and Board of Directors should be incentivized to do their best!

no, like, so
you know how most companies are a series of departments that work together for the benefit of the larger organization right?

3:14 PM
Hmmhm

well this guy said "wait that's communism" and his company did a series of competing departments to the detriment of the whole
for example they had like a mother's day issue of the catalog one time and instead of saying "hmm, what would work best for this" and deciding "literally anything but hardware", hardware stole that cover

facedesks

Aah, BBUs.

now you may be thinking, "wait that makes no sense why would you do that", and you would be right

Here's a 2018 Buzzfeed story detailing the Stephen Calk info as it came out in the Manafort trial:

3:19 PM
but it is not the weird Randian structure that did it, it was millenials
or, I assume, that's what this guy tells himself now
competition is what allowed sears to do innovative things, like "selling off the craftsman brand"
and "going bankrupt and closing all their stores"

3:44 PM
I mean the fact he stole a bunch of cash also contributed, to be fair, but it was Extremely Dumb management

4:01 PM
nope just millenials

4:48 PM
My understanding is that the ad firm was tied to North so I guess this is fairly predictable and I'm unclear how "unfairly maligning Oliver North" is a legal matter, BUT NEVERTHELESS

This raises the question of whether they couldn't get computer crime charges without Manning's testimony, and if that's the case, pushing the 1st Amendment envelope because of a protest to the grand jury process does…not seem like a win :/
"He wants us to impeach him so the Senate will absolve him" "Actually who would want to be impeached?"

no you see
you're playing checkers
she is playing timecube chess
that's where you play chess 4 days per day

And backwards

listen, the people are suffering, they can't get food or medicine, idk how that happened but it was probably cuba
so we have no choice but to checks notes ah yes sanction the national food program that feeds like half of the population yes

Prior to 2003 going to prison meant a lifetime of disenfranchisement in the state, followed by an obscure patchwork of exceptions

10:15 PM
Honestly extremely disappointing the Dem bench is largely getting outclassed by Bill Weld, but

Really going to extremes for the "I have a black friend" excuse

@TimStone I can't believe we've been reduced to text linking twitter posts.

@TimStone a shame that China has said they aren't coming back to the negotiating table until the recent stuff with Huawei is settled
