12:00 AM
@TimStone also love how it's "first meeting between the two in their current roles"

12:21 AM
between Michael Cohen and Rudy Giuliani I can only assume the New York bar is a highlights magazine word jumble

1:08 AM
so uhh, how come it's legal for foreign spies to attempt murder, when anyone else would face legal issues for that?

1:33 AM
@Chippies because spies have code names which aren't their real names. if you get your real name associated with your code name your not a spy
and that generally happens when you get caught. not a good spy if you get caught

1:54 AM
On April 5th, ICE took 97 people in custody at a factory in rural Tennessee. The I.R.S. believes that the owners of the plant owe the government millions of dollars in back taxes. But the owners were not among the people arrested. http://nyer.cm/pf0Hxhk
(Abolish ICE, etc, but seriously)

2:31 AM
looks at Twitter
Oh, the House GOP goon squad is out in full force

3 hours later…
5:44 AM
I have found one of the Comey memos released to the @AP

6:18 AM
Comey memo: Trump said Putin praised Russian hookers as "the most beautiful in the world" http://hill.cm/lzdwh9a
that's not new
Putin said that like last year

6:31 AM
@Memor-X I think this is about Putin telling that Trump directly

2 hours later…
8:43 AM
I didn't vote for the guy, but this is Troll Level Exalted Grand Master

2 hours later…
10:37 AM
So General Michael Flynn’s life can be totally destroyed while Shadey James Comey can Leak and Lie and make lots of money from a third rate book (that should never have been written). Is that really the way life in America is supposed to work? I don’t think so!

1 hour later…
11:40 AM
Gee whiz, who would have guessed

12:06 PM
Here’s 1984 audio of Trump pretending to be “John Barron” and trying to convince a Forbes journalist to list him as wealthier than he was: https://wapo.st/2HfeYAO?tid=ss_tw&utm_term=.fd9570cd0ba5

@GnomeSlice going to Starbucks and telling them my name is "we support your right to call the police on people for no real reason" to own the libs

Ave
god I was on starbucks today
the baristas wer elike
just so...

For values of "real reason" meaning:
Here's why calling the cops on "loiterers" is bad: --We live in overwhelmingly privatized spaces, ever subject to state violence --It's usually racist and always classist --It allows the wealthy to socially engineer access and belonging --Mind your own damn business

Ave
"hi I'll get teavana of <name i forgot>"
"you had it before?" "no" "okay. you'll love it." "'kay" "what's your name" "just write a" "writes "just aaaa..""
that's okay-ish so far, but when I went to pick it up the other barista was like, "what do you think that it is? pistachio? something sweet? nah." but in an insulting tone
too much needless, annoying interaction.
Also that barista followed me to my seat later and was like "it's amazing isn't it, you just want to drink more as you drink" and...
I hate talking with people.

Ave
12:19 PM
Now that I'm typing it like this it feels sort of like First World Problems but, eh, annoying. They also joked about the name thing and tried to guess my name and I guess all names being male names didn't help with my mood.

and this is why i'd rather make instant coffee myself than get it from a barista

Our Starbucks has a drive-thru 😅

Ave
None of the starbucks in turkey have drive-thrus
we also have very very very rare female employees in starbucks
also teavanas are... meh.
iirc advertising was like "COFFEE AND TEA!!" but it tastes much more like tea

teavana is just a brand of tea
so it probably is just tea

1:11 PM
@Unionhawk I am really not sure how that was your takeaway. Also who said anything about 'libs'

Look man, you're the one posting Daily Wire not me

Oh is that another one that's bad for some reason

far right outlet defends police, decision to call the police in this case. news at 11

@Unionhawk that doesn't sound that far

1:40 PM
I'm not going to argue whether or not Ben Shapiro and by extension his media outlet is far right, that would be a waste of my time and yours
My real takeaway from the whole case is that the increasing privatization of all space is Bad
meanwhile, WE GOT A CALLOUT IN NYT? :O
> Across the country, socialists are focusing on hyperlocal issues. In Cincinnati, activists helped save the wing of a public library from privatization. In Austin, they pushed to pass what has been called the first mandatory paid sick leave requirement in the South.
yoooooo
We should have a bigger feature in Jacobin at some point maybe next issue

@GnomeSlice They were in the store for under two minutes before the manager called the cops, and the company said it was wrong based on their own understanding of the situation, yet Matt Walsh wants to come along and say "Okay but what if we blamed them instead?" 🤔

3:48 PM
> “We are behind you all the way,” President Trump said. “And we want to thank you.” The President called on Congressional Democrats to support the Task Force by closing loopholes that allow drugs and human traffickers to spill into the United States. “We need border protection; we need the wall,” he said.
lol buddy our opioids aren't coming from Mexico
> top Justice Department officials have expressed strong reservations about whether to move forward with a case they say may not be winnable
Okay but they tried to charge the inauguration protesters so I'm actually not buying a word of that 🤔
@TimStone It's okay though there's an infinitely more stupid take to mark the day

4:22 PM
This is awful
And people think we have it bad in North America

@Memor-X Good thumbnail game.

@Unionhawk grats

@Unionhawk CONGRATULATIONS

4:45 PM
> “This is Officer Moten. I’m driving on 45 South right now and right now I am at — ” he said before Williams cut him off. “Ain’t nobody got time for this. For real,” she said, and then the line went dead.

While I am extreme same, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 🤔
I'm still not sure how society doesn't just collapse tbh
Can you imagine being that cop though? Once the phone clicked off do you just stop the car in the middle of the road and try to figure out what the hell just happened? Because I feel like I would

@TimStone it was a security guard not a cop though

That's Mr. Officer Security Guard to you, sir

from the article, most called back

5:06 PM
It does seem like some flags should have ideally been raised sooner, not sure exactly what changes could be made that wouldn't have detrimental impact on well meaning operators though
A pattern of an operator frequently ending the call on their end after a short period seems suspicious at first brush, but I guess they also need to get off the line to be able to respond to any new calls ASAP so possibly not in reality

@StrixVaria Want to star this but that's probably stretching the rules beyond their breaking point.
Thanks for posting.

Stretching the rules?

6:05 PM
Oh.

Someone should probably make sure he considers everyone people though

6:33 PM
@TimStone cringey but fair point
did anyone mention the DNC lawsuit yet?

focusing on the real issues

(tl;dr if this is gonna be like Watergate we're gonna commit to the bit)

its a weird thing to sue over imo

@Unionhawk hue

@GodEmperorDune *~.Discovery.~*

I mean if it survives a motion to dismiss

In part why they didn't include Trump, most likely

Yep
Family isn't saying why. He had a bunch of health problems

@GnomeSlice ah shit :(

Trump complaining that Gorsuch is becoming too liberal: report http://hill.cm/6zBTNHc
@GnomeSlice Oh damn :/

10:41 PM
Trump complained about Flynn's 'judgment,' Comey memo says
http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/comey-memo-fbi-trump-flynn-1.4627802
Shared via the CBC News Android App
> In a series of startlingly candid conversations, U.S. President Donald Trump told former FBI director James Comey that he had serious concerns about the judgment of a top adviser, asked about the possibility of jailing journalists and described a boast from Vladimir Putin about Russian prostitutes, according to Comey's notes of the talks.

I like his tweet basically saying "Everyone look at this leaked information that totally vindicates me. Also it's classified and shouldn't have been leaked"

10:59 PM
@TimStone what

Look he made a single ruling that said if we're gonna punish immigrants we have to be specific about it being allowed and so now he's a SJW

11:11 PM
@TimStone hue
neil "stay with your truck in deadly circumstances if you want to keep your job" gorsuch

@TimStone I was promised a judge who ruled that truckers must remain in life threatening situations if their employer says so or else face rightful termination what to heck
