Hmm the police released the video from the Uber and oh boy :/

Like it's hard to fault the backup driver because she's not easily visible to the plain eye until it's too late, from the perspective of the video anyway but uhh very unclear how the sensors didn't pick her up in the middle of the road

When they said she "stepped out of the shadows" originally it made it seem like she was behind something, but she was in the shadows between street lights in the middle of a wide road

and the sensors are supposed to use lasers or w/e so that visible light isn't an issues so yeah...

seems like this was an ideal use case for the sensors
