Trump's lawyer in his oral arguments for the CO Supreme Court is seriously arguing that Democrats could put Obama back on the ballot for 2024 and states couldn't stop them
... Did he just SERIOUSLY argue that what happened on Jan. 6 was not an insurrection because it only lasted 3 hours?

@Nzall I mean... Yes they could? The 2 terms thing is not enshrined in law, its more of a tradition.

And at the end of the day, its not what is the subject here. Nobody is saying 'Can someone be president for 2 different periods' the question is 'does someone that has been convicted of crimes can be on the ballot'

So Trump's lawyers have filed a motion to stay the Washington DC criminal case pending the appeal on the matter of presidential immunity, and they have claimed that they are going to ignore any active deadlines until this appeal is resolved
