1:04 PM
I just voted, it'll be interesting how this election turns out, almost anything is possible. Though we probably will only know much later which coalition will actually happen

2 hours later…
2:58 PM
@MadScientist Oh that reminds me, I meant to check the final results of the Canadian federal election ow that mail in ballots are counted. Is the Germany election you voted in a federal one as well?
That "Other" was, I believe, the Liberal minister that got booted and who has since stepped down.
So in a way the liberals really only got 1 seat
It's wild just how lopsided rural alberta is

3:13 PM
@Wipqozn yes, it's the federal election

3:25 PM
@Jolenealaska Gosh darn liberals and their cancel culture!

@MadScientist How long do you think it'll take until you'll know the final results?

30 minutes until we get the first results
and usually the almost final ones the next day

@MadScientist Are there any parties you really do NOT want to see win?

AfD
but they're not going to anyway

understandable

4:02 PM
okay, it'll get complicated with the coalitions

2 hours later…
5:32 PM
it's likely to be either Jamaica or Traffic light, the big coalition would also work but nodody really wants to continue with that

@MadScientist Okay, I have no idea what these coalitions mean
All I know is that they both involve the Green party

Jamaica is green, yellow, black and traffic light is green, yellow, red

@MadScientist Okay, so Green is obvious; I think Red is the socialists party? Then what's yellow and Black?

No, red is SPD, the social democrats. Yellow is FDP, the liberals. And black is CDU, the conservatives.
The far left party didn't get that many votes, they won't be part of any coalition as it looks right now

welp... german federal election is a golly crapshow
two digit FDP and two digit AfD ~sighs

5:48 PM
barely two-digit for both

well, yea, but considering that the FDP doesn't have any actual policies and the AfD are literal nazis ...

the most annoying part will be endless coalition talks
and Linder might do a Lindner again and blow them up at the end

yup. I do hope that the Left stays in the BT

The FDP does have policies, you don't have to like them, but they do
They are like the CDU saying they want to cut taxes without explaining how to finance that, but that's something that while annoying is very common

okay, let me reformulate: The FDP hasn't been able to formulate policies in the campaign
"The market will fix it all" isn't a policy, really

5:51 PM
They're going to cut taxes for people that earn well. That's a policy, though not one I find useful at all

agreed
