@TimStone I thought she was the one they were all clinging to with hopes of some massive proof in the next day or two

Yeah but Rudy needs to make sure it's not his fault or he won't get his pardon
@MadScientist As long as this ship keeps sailing it will head for even dumber waters

2:19 AM
@TimStone Trust me, even if the ship is sinking, it'll keep heading for dumber waters.
Basing this on every bit of news I ever hear from my previous company.

> Powell has promoted numerous conspiracy theories. She has made claims of a "deep state" plot to frame Flynn, and has promoted personalities and slogans associated with the QAnon conspiracy theory.

After the 2020 presidential election, Powell alleged international Communists, “globalists," George Soros, the Clinton Foundation and thousands of Democratic and Republican officials, including Trump ally Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, were part of a conspiracy to rig the election in favor of Joe Biden.
@TimStone jeez, i can't imagine why they would want to get rid of her

Didn't Trump quote a retweet from someone about a week ago talking about how honorable and intellige Sydney Powell is, and if she says she found fraud it means there is 100% fraud?
I'd try to look back through his tweets but I think there have been about 900 since then

His closest advisers have a lot first hand fraud experience.

@Sterno just need to find the right news post to find it for you

BREAKING: Canadian officials warn drivers not to let moose lick their cars cnn.com/2020/11/22/americas/canada-warns-moose-lick-cars-trnd/…

1:36 PM
@Nzall This is the worst site I've ever seen, and I'm fairly confident this is transphobic "satire."

@Wipqozn yeah, I've gotten similar remarks on Twitter after I commented on the mother's remark

@Nzall What I'm getting at is I'm deleting it

@Wipqozn If you think that's best. Looking back I tend to agree that it was transphobic, though I'm not sure it was satire

@Nzall Do you really think that sites reliable?
It looks like complete trash, and sites no sources at all.
And a search for the victims name brings up nothing
so it might not be "satire", but it's made up bullshit, that's for sure.

1:57 PM
@Wipqozn yeah, sorry, I should have done better vetting before posting that

2 hours later…
3:55 PM
@Wipqozn Well, you're right. It was fake news. Original source was World News Daily Report, which has the tag line "Where facts don't matter"

Reminds me of that OAN guy's tagline: Even when I'm wrong, I'm right

@Sterno Okay, that's actually pretty clever.

I have to say, though. that WNDR is a DANGEROUS fake news site. Like, those articles are things that could conceivably happen. None of this Onion stuff where Bin Laden rises from the ocean or releasing the same article every time something common happens, but things like "Lottery winner drops manure on boss's lawn" or "Hairdresser makes voodoo dolls from customer's hair". I could conceivably see those things happen

> Judge throws out an Oneida County voter’s ballot because “Lincoln Project Voter” was written on the bottom. It’s considered a “distinguishing mark,” rendering it void by law. #NY22 @ProjectLincoln t.co/N8XnqOdi91
lmao

8:43 PM
@Unionhawk People think this is funny but I don't get it
You americans and your american humour
sorry, humor.
Nevada judge rejects effort to force re-vote in state's largest county cnn.com/politics/live-news/…
> A Nevada District judge has denied a request by a losing Republican congressional candidate for a re-vote in the state’s largest county Clark County.
What would even be the reasoning for something like this, outside of "I want to engage in better voter suppression"?

@Wipqozn project lincoln was like, a group that raised something like 20 million dollars to try and convince republicans that for the good of the country we need biden or whatever
which 1) donald trump won something like 96% in party and 2) 1 of the apparent successes is now a null and void ballot

Silly Lincoln

but it's in new york so it probably doesn't matter in any real way

That'll learn ya to go to the theatre

if anything this was probably a downballot republican vote tbh

8:48 PM
@Unionhawk so what you're telling me is that the Liberal, bloc, and cons are all terrible since they voted down a wealth tax to help with the pandemic fueled economic crisis whihc the rich are profiting off of? ndp.ca/news/…
Sorry we were talking abou terribleness in politics so it reminded me about that

Yes
Incidentally, a wealth tax polls at a large majority of all canadians, and a majority of canadians of every party

including cons somehow

> The NDP will propose a motion calling for a tax on people with fortunes over $20 million on its first Opposition Day — when opposition parties get to choose the agenda.

> The text of the non-binding motion, viewed by CBC News, says the tax should be set at one per cent of a family's wealth. It also calls for an "excess profit tax" on big corporations that the NDP says have been "profiteering" from the pandemic.

> The motion says revenue raised from the new taxes should be used to fund health care, housing and other social programs, such as a guaranteed livable income.
@Unionhawk Canadian conservatives are weird
a lot of them believe in HELPING THE WORKING CLASS, and for some reason think that's the cons
In fact a lot of con voters are just "I don't trust the Liberals!", so they vote Con instead. And well fair enough, I'm not a liberal fan either.... but instead I vote NDP.
also every Liberal, Con, and Bloc rep voted against or didn't vote on it: kimsiever.ca/2020/11/21/…
Note: no vote could literally mean they didn't show up

Just for fun I decided to plot the # of new COVID cases weekly in my kids' school district

8:54 PM
Anyway I should reahc out to my local MP and ask why they suck
but nicer

Corner looks super rounded

@Sterno Holy shit
It's really impressive how much work people have put into this Covid hoax!

@Sterno for bonus points fit an exponential curve in there and determine R

Look if we just keep increasing the slope we'll eventually do a loop and go back in time on a downward trajectory

I think if we try really hard we can draw a batsignal in the curve

8:59 PM
lol

There's an SE question somewhere for the equation, and well we have to pretend reality doesn't exist to draw a closed curve in that kind of plot, but that's not really an issue anymore after 4 years of Trump

10:01 PM
@TimStone Oh maybe they're shooting for integer overflow

It's seriously frustrating that we can't get this under control while the vaccines are so close. Of course it'll take many months to vaccinate enough people, but still they're here faster than the optimistic estimates, and it's still not enough

@MadScientist I agree completely. It's ridiculous. Quite frankly it really shouldn't be that hard, if people didn't suck.

I mean it's actually hard. But it's not impossible. We're barely able to keep a lid on this, and we're doing better than most of Europe. But the thing that infuriates me is that people seem to be unable to understand the inevitability of the consequences once the cases rise.

It's only hard because people and society suck
Actually tax the rich and give people UBI, along with extending assistance programs for small businesses, and BAM! the "BUT THE ECONOMY" and "but I need food to like, not die. Also shelter." reasons are gone.

Then second have people actually follow social gathering, mask guidelines, self-isolation, and travel restrictions and the virus would have a hard time spreading.
I mean it's blowing up in nova scotia again and it's not because of ~ magic ~
IT's because people are travelling out of province and then aren't properly self-isolating
Since chilling in the living room with your family, while they then go out and about, isn't properly self-isolating.

10:47 PM
> Of course it'll take many months to vaccinate enough people
40% of the US says they won't vaccinate, last I checked

11:07 PM
Well, I guess 40% of the US don't need to be vaccinated anymore anyway.
(How much those two groups overlap is unclear, though.)

@NapoleonWilson if you're talking about those who already got infected. some research has found that it doesn't last

> Dozens of leaked documents from Amazon’s Global Security Operations Center reveal the company’s reliance on Pinkerton operatives to spy on warehouse workers and the extensive monitoring of labor unions, environmental activists, and other social movements.
