@Nzall oh the one hand i'd question the point but that's coming from a personal perspective that irl i want to come out to my parents first but on the other hand maybe a counselor are supposed to be more trusted officials and this would be a disgusting breach of that trust

@TimStone just watched the Phillip DeFranco Show where it mentioned this, did not realize that this is the same territory that's mentioned in Trump's proposed plan
not sure what the Palestinians are meant to agree to then because it sounds like it's less a proposal for them and more "this is what's going to happen and you're going to shut up and accept it"
even the summary is horrible to hear

2:20 AM
> The Associated Press reported that 73-year-old Wolfgang Halbig was arrested on one count of possessing stolen identification, with The Orlando Sentinel reporting that Halbig was charged after emailing private information including the father's Social Security number to law enforcement personnel.

An arrest affidavit obtained by the Sentinel revealed that Halbig allegedly emailed information including the Social Security number of Leonard Pozner, the father of 6-year-old victim Noah Pozner, to several people including law enforcement agencies.
have no idea what those emails would be about but would be a fair bit to assume nothing good
none of the link that follow from the articles state what the emails were about, but i suspect given their *cough* "belief" and law enforcement agencies were emailed, might be trying to claim that the father made a false report of a crime

> The lab-grown virus - which was developed from an infected patient - will assist with accurate diagnosis of the disease across the world.

It will be shared with expert laboratories working closely with the World Health Organisation in Europe, along with laboratories across Australia.

It will also help assess the effectiveness of trial vaccines.

And now coronavirus
> In August, the FDA said it was “not aware of any scientific evidence” that MMS has medical properties. In 2009, a woman who took MMS to avoid contracting malaria died almost immediately after swallowing it for the first time.

@TimStone everyone, stop, don't talk them out of it. this is perfect

@Memor-X oh dang I reposted. Still a good story though
@GodEmperorDune what the hell? Who on earth do they think they’re fooling with that?

@GodEmperorDune i thought the first image was the edited one

i suppose it's not deformation because people know Jacob Wohl is a joke and no reasonable person would be influenced by this
Alex Jones: I am a reasonable
Me: you yelled at shit on the road, your a very sick man!

@GodEmperorDune Yeah, I just…someone put him in jail already, it's just getting sad
Really unclear how the lesson here won't be that the MAGA chuds will come for them all but 🤷🏼‍♂️

> Human Rights Commission says absence of mandatory gender diversity curriculum is discrimination
> "The evidence as a whole appears to establish that the [government's] education system enables schools to refuse to include or under-include reference to sexual orientation, gender identity and diverse family relationships or structures," wrote Karen Sharma, the commission's director of investigations and policy on July 22, 2019.

@Wipqozn that's awful.

user15026
I keep thinking of all the kids who think they are wrong or broken because of this sort of thing

@Ash It's fucked. Jason and Ford are doing everything they can to make Ontario and Alberta just as bad.

user15026
Yep. :(

2:37 PM
Not the first to say it, but a well-written summary and rebuttal of the Trump defense's main points:

Just the absolute dumbest people running the country
Whether Hunter Biden did anything wrong is an issue for indicting Hunter Biden, which someone should absolutely do if he did anything, and I do not care
What Trump did had nothing to actually do with that, though
lmfao

3:14 PM
So is there gonna be a vote on witnesses today? Any indication?

@TimStone Man ponders, "should my neighbor being an asshole absolve me of attempted murder charges?"

To be fair that's Rand Paul's neighbour's defense

@Stormblessed No vote until Friday, after the 16-hrs of questions
plenty of speculation in the meanwhile

Well... he's not wrong. But that also doesn't mean Bolton is lying about what Trump said.

Imagine being surprised the Israeli government wanted to do war crimes against the Palestinians

@BradC what’s the source?

This is the guy who claimed to have Yovanovitch under surveillance

3:51 PM
@Stormblessed I can dig up a link, but that's pretty well established as the sequence, via the approved plan/schedule
@Stormblessed Here's a link: Impeachment Trial Schedule
Sequence is:
1. Presentation from the House managers (the "prosecution") (completed last Fri)
2. Presentation from Trump's defense counsel (completed yesterday)
3. Questions from Senators for both sides (in writing) - today and tomorrow, 8 hrs each
4. Anything after that (votes on witnesses or evidence, or maybe straight to an up/down vote on conviction, if there are not enough votes) can't start before Fri
Clearly we don't yet know how exactly that's going to shake out; but we should see action of some sort on Friday

@TimStone hehehehehe, well played on that Rand Paul's neighbor joke.

‘Scam PAC’ fundraisers reap millions in the name of heart-tugging causes reuters.com/investigates/special-report/…

@Wipqozn So we're literally back to Rosa Parks.

@Yuuki Yes. It's fucked,
> Benson, a Chicago native, has since switched Marketing 310 classes, and told CNN he doesn't feel comfortable returning to Borna's classroom. Since the incident, he said he's had increased anxiety and even nightmares about what could have been.
I certainly wouldn't. The fact he needed to change classes over this is fucked. hopefully the new professor isn't a racist control freak.
The professor "apologized", but who even cares.
> Benson is thinking about taking legal action against the professor and the university. He said he's grateful to those who offered their help.
Good. Sue them into the ground.

I'd really like to know the professor's line of thought because Benson had been taking the class for awhile apparently, enough that he had a usual seat.

@Yuuki According to subredditdrama, they had assigned seating?
And having assigned seating in a university class is ridiculous.

wow assigned seating in a university class

5:27 PM
especially in a 300 level class
I could maybe buy in a 100 level, or in certain labs

@Unionhawk Labs are the only instance where it makes sense... and that's because their might be assigned groups. Or because it makes setup easier or something.
I once had a professor who asked if we could try to keep to a "Regular" seat throughout the class, just because it helped him remember names. But that was just a polite request, not assigned seating. Huge difference.
and by "regular" seating literally mean "hey, that spot you just happened to sit down today? Mind sticking there for the first few weeks?".
Anyways, that whole situation is ridiculous, and I really hope that student sues the university and wins. The professor doesn't even appear to be reprimanded in anyway.

@Wipqozn I agree with everything you said, just fyi on a very minor point, not sure if the article was updated since you first saw it:
> The professor doesn't even appear to be reprimanded in anyway.
> In an email sent to students, the Ball State President Geoffrey Means said the situation had "unnecessarily escalated" and that the business school's dean had established corrective actions that included appropriate training and oversight for the professor in the future.
"This choice was a gross error of judgment, and it was simply an unwarranted overreaction," he wrote.
But to be clear again, I completely agree with everything you said. Just in case you were interested in a potential article update.

5:46 PM
@puzzlepiece87 Nope, I just glossed over the professors apology letter tbh. I assumed it was just a false apology.
Glad to hear the uni is doing something
@TimStone I can't figure out what the a stands for

what the actual f

Oh, well, that was obvious then. I'm now shamed. Time to go live in the mountains as a hermit.

what the heck is a "formal threat"?
The article doesn't say, nor are any of the involved parties commenting.

@BradC I'd assume they simply claim that the book contains classified or privileged information and can't be published due to that. But who knows, with Trump it could also be a mobster-style threat to drown Bolten in a river

6:07 PM
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
It declared itself dead by bursting into flames
@BradC Knowing what we know now they really should have just waited and filled up one end of the Chunnel with red gravel and pretended like they didn't know what was going on

Impeachment trial is starting in the Senate: questions from Senators for both sides. All channels, many streams

Hm, perhaps we've been looking at this the wrong way, Hunter Biden is a distraction, and if we just load him and the Clintons up in a rocket and launch them directly into the sun the distraction will be removed

6:32 PM
this... is going to be stupid setup questions the whole way down, isn't it

Yes
Everything is dumb. I don't know how it ever stops being dumb

Not actual challenging questions for the other side...

We apparently should have done more to keep it from becoming more dumb before

"counsel, can you respond to the point the House managers just made??"

7:06 PM
for some reason I thought they were going to pre-submit all these quesitons
not walk them down on the spot

> John Bolton Likes Tweet Saying Trump Should ‘Fire the Moron Who Hired John Bolton’

that arguement from Dershowitz was a bit surprising
also predicts the next blockbuster leak
(Dershowitz literally argued that, in each politician's own mind, getting re-elected is a matter in the public interest, so isn't impeachable. He also curiously argued that this wasn't like it was a quid-pro-quo for financial gain, like, say, asking for a skyscraper with your name on it)

7:31 PM
Incredible

Canada has secured a charter aircraft to repatriate Canadians who are stranded in the coronavirus-affected region of China. cbc.ca/news/politics/…
@Yuuki It was Trump, wasn't it?

@Wipqozn Well yeah, Bolton was National Security Advisor, I don't think there's anyone higher up on the rung that officially hires for that position.
Did you meant who tweeted it? In that case, it wasn't Trump.

7:55 PM
@Yuuki Oh, no I didn't, but I did think Trump tweeted it

@Unionhawk oh hey, there's a unifor office just down the road from me

user15026
8:24 PM
Unifor, they're the union for my transit locally. (Different local, though, obviously)

user15026
I just hear their name a loooot right now as we (hopefully) resolve this strike thing.

Interesting, yeah they're just a generalized trade union
At least that's less confusing than like, United Auto Workers representing graduate students

user15026
Yeah, that's a little confusing.

9:21 PM
> Kremlin confirms new title of 'Supreme Ruler' for Vladimir Putin is being considered

9:39 PM
Mentioned above, but there is plenty of hubbub about Dershowitz' insane arguments in response to a question (he's only been allowed to answer than one):
Oops, edit time expired. meant to say that Dershowitz has only been allowed to answer that one question, and that one was, shall we say, highly unorthodox

9:52 PM
@Ash thinking back on my life i wish this was something raised like 15-20 years ago
back then when Cardcaptor Sakura first aired i saw in K-Mart Sakura Kinomoto's Wand and Clow Cards. i asked for that for christmas but there was always push back because "it's a girl's toy" so i tried to reason that i wasn't after the wand, i wanted the cards (i actually wanted both)
not the only sign i now recall being that i'm a girl but gender identity or even sexual orientation were never brought up in the 13 years of mandatory school i attended
@BradC lol, coming from the guy who welcomed the new year in the brink of war
@Wipqozn don't buy it because it falls on it's ass when you ask why wasn't the other guy told to "move your seat or I call the police" before Benson was told to move to the back of the class

user15026
10:10 PM
@Memor-X yeaaaah, it does a number onp eople.

@BradC "appears to contain significant amounts of classified information" and it's been under White House Review since December hasn't it to look for stuff like that
the timing is way too coincidental
@BradC and during his smug "middle finger" speech to the EU, Nigel Farage was cut off for breaking the rules.
someone should have told him that you generally act like the jackass who's been fired on the last day of your job as you walk out
@TimStone it's just a little burnt and polluting. it's still good it's still good

11:12 PM
Great marketing that makes me think this relatable guy is very qualified to be president

whom amongst us doesn't have staffers off camera to hand us ice cream
at all times

> "dershowitz is the only constitutional lawyer to hold this position"
> the dersh: "but there was this one guy in the 1800s"
lol sure pal

11:51 PM
This is funny in the abstract but obviously terrifying in reality, not being able to remove some dumb crap about you because e.g. Facebook doesn't care at all
