I don't understand why you need an acronym for "everyone" - perhaps that's the part that makes this an interpersonal skill? Are you concerned that heterosexual people are left out of LGBT+ and similar acronyms? Also considering the cultures of the places we live in. I haven't really talked to them that much after the incident, it took place this morning only a few hours ago, they texted me and let me know just afterward. The part about cultural norms is probably more important than knowing the gender of each of you, so if you want to keep it general you could just say you both have the same gender or opposite genders. If you can give a region/specific culture that might help get answers that take specific cultural norms into account, otherwise just the 'rule' that you can't just call them might do.
