What were the terms of this "commitment"? If I were to do such a thing, I would plan 1 or 2 evenings a week and define before starting whether "we move forward 4 episodes per session and if anybody misses the train they're responsible for catching up" or "we only move on together, or don't move on at all" — Laurent S. 2 mins ago

Well, I can give you one (unsatisfactory) answer... this question is too broad to be answerable on this site right now. As for your problems with SE, they're also not on-topic here. Our help center advises you to either ask on the meta of the site you asked on (you can always post there asking about your own questions), or perhaps use the contact-us link at the bottom of every page (though CMs are busy and might also not have more than a generic reply). Also.. SE is not a support forum, look at it more like wikipedia, but where knowledge is documented as Q&As. — Tinkeringbell ♦ 58 secs ago

The former point Laurent mentioned simply happened without buy in from him, and it was only after he was upset about it that he insisted the latter happen uncompromisingly. He typically gives a busy work schedule as the reason, but there have been times where he was actually free and didn’t make an effort to proactively organize a viewing session. I feel that I’m the only one making a serious effort to try to find common ground on commitment terms. — Austin Conlon 2 mins ago

Hey SisterStudent! Welcome to Interpersonal Skills. Sadly, I don't think we can tell you if these are real suicidal thoughts (or help you treat your brother, if they're real he's going to need a professional, not some internet strangers) or if this is pure manipulation (again, that decision needs to be left for a professional, not random internet strangers). — Tinkeringbell ♦ 1 min ago

While we might be able to help you with your behavior during interactions with your brother, we also can't magically change his. For that to work though, we require questions to include a clear goal, which this is currently lacking. What do you want, what would make the situation 'dealt with' from your side of the interaction? — Tinkeringbell ♦ 28 secs ago

Was this closed because of the "what do I do" question? They obviously have decided to ask their roommate to leave but want help with that conversation. Surely this is something we can help with? I've been in a very similar situation and would happily post an answer. — Kat 2 mins ago

Could you edit your question to make it a bit clearer what action you need help with and what result you are trying to achieve? And maybe add a bit more structure to the question by adding line breaks between topics (describing the problem, describing what you tried, asking the actual question you want answered). — Llewellyn 1 min ago
