morning all. As someone who quite enjoys working from home i'm surprised to find myself in the position of wanting to work at the office (for atleast one day) next week- whilst the goverment guideline is to work remotely where possible
working from home is comfy but as we have to use a VPN when working remotely, any task that requires loading hundreds of browser pages (which i have to do every monday) is literally faster to do in the office
Slow day, liking it. Got a company 'present' today, some food and drinks as there will be no christmas office party this year. Don't have to cook tonight, and in about 15 minutes my day will be done and we'll have a 'teammeeting' that involves just chatting and maybe something like scribbl.io
Yeah, it's nice. I like the last few months of the year for that: Work slows down and you're not constantly switching between bugfixing, making new stuff, and refactoring old stuff on the go XD
unlike 90+% of SE users, i dont actually code for a living. i work for a satellite company so my workload every monday increases as we install more and more sites on the ground
Here, we mostly make data validations. So, stuff like 'a 50mm wide gas pipe should be connected using 50mm connectors, not 75 because that stuff will leak' :P And then we check the data that contractors give the company, about the pipes and lines they put into the ground. But because they have loads of work to do at the end of the year, we're basically having a code-freeze so they won't run into problems with newly minted checks
I am watching this program called "extreme cheapskates" while gobbling up dinner... And these people are seriously doing medical procedures at home, and the program has a warning "methods in this program can be dangerous"... It seriously needs some stronger red flags XD
i think i've seen some moistcritikal videos about those but not the program itself. they're funny as hell minus the part where some of them are just depressing
@hyper-neutrino Yeah, the weird habits are fun but it's a bit depressing if there's e.g. kids involved that really don't like it.
Like, i don't care if a fully grown adult and her husband take out a tooth using homemade tools... But send your kids to the dentist like a normal person!
