Q: How to communicate the difference between advice and trying to "change someone"?

FrontEndWe all have different levels of stubbornness I suppose, and different levels of willingness to learn and adapt outside of our comfort zone. I am a big fan of learning and making improvements so I tend to be the first to have advice on how to solve things, but try to make sure I only give it when ...

who's bright idea was it to have different date systems!
its breaking my spreadsheet because people put dates in "incorrectly" and for some dates i can't tell if i need to flip the day/month or not

@AlexRobinson This really is annoying. And not just when it is breaking spreadsheets XD I missed 'appointments' due to stuff like it XD

its not critical at the moment... but it still just confuses my why anyone wouldn't put the smallest increment first and the largest increment last
or vice versa

Because then it doesn't fit spoken language ;) "December 1st, 2021"
Month, day, year ;)

@Tinkeringbell literally crying and shaking xd
1st of december

Heh, yeah, that's the more usual way to pronounce a date in e.g. Dutch, but not English :P

3:20 PM
hmm i'll allow that
on an entirely unrelated note... has anyone here used microsoft teams and how do they feel about it?

@AlexRobinson I've used it before; it's overall alright. Not bad but also not my favorite.
I still prefer Discord for communication but companies aren't gonna use that lol

its such a missed opportunity, discord has so much better functionality and "discord for business" i think could be fantastic
I didn't like teams initially but as soon as i realised it has the same emoji set as Skype and that for how i use it it basically is skype its not that bad

I find it okay, though I wish there were some more ways to filter notifications. It's a bit 'all or nothing' sometimes.
Even if I have teams 'hidden', if someone does an "@entire-team", it still sometimes creates a notification :/
(Oh, and I hate the 'mail previews' of messages. Either include the whole message or don't send me a notification at all... now I have to log in to see if I needed to log in!)
