@ExtrovertedMainMan "Are parents controlling when they tell their 24 year old adult child they can’t drive?" - who can't drive, parents or the child? How is the use of singular "they" not confusing? I am really tired of pretending it's not confusing.

@lila Meh, the question body clarifies: "They won't let me drive".
I agree the title could've been clearer though, by using 'I' instead of 'their 24 year old adult child'. :P
Even so, that's not an argument to complain about the use of singular they.

and I know it is not an argument, it was not even supposed to be an argument, I just got salty because of this and wanted to tell you :/

@lila Ahh. Well salty things are good, with this hot weather! So thanks ;) I'm a bit fuzzy, haven't really slept a lot due to the heat for a few nights :)

@Tinkeringbell Wow I feel sorry then, we have had an "orange weather alarm" since a few days because of the heat wave, with peak temperature in shade being around 33 °C (for those unfamiliar with metric system, 33 degrees Celsius is 306.15 Kelvin). But at nights it is bearable for me, I have a fan \o/ and yes we lose a lot of minerals, including Na+ and Cl- along with the water in sweat, so I admire that you remember about this, many people remember only about the water!
I mean, our alarm is still in effect where I live, a few days of heat are expected these following days.

@lila Heh, you learn about the salts quickly enough when doing archaeology internships in full summer heat :P
It's cooled down significantly here after a bit of rain. It's just over 20 degrees now, though that might also be all the cooling we get for the night. At least it's better than the 24 I got in the house now :/
