Q: How to tell my wife that she shouldn't be worry about her mother in law?

ShotaI've just married with my wife for six months. I've build a house for us next to my parent house. It's a separate bulding with its own door, kitchen, bathroom etc. We live in Malaysia. My mother occasionally asking us to eat together in her house. Sometimes, we're asked to eat there when my wife ...

Q: How do I explain to my ex-girlfriend that she's not entitled to certain things now that we're just friends?

PKUBackground: Let's call her Sarah. I broke up with her a few months ago. We share a dog, who I bought, who we agreed will stay with me for a while (1 or 2 weeks) and with her for a while. She suggested we continue to be friends and I agreed. But now I feel I need her to know there are boundaries n...

@ExtrovertedMainMan It looks like she either or both: still has strong feelings for you, or wants the privileges coming from being in a relationship with you. If you, as you admit yourself, are bad at saying "no" and establishing healthy boundaries, then I am definitely sure that she is perfectly aware of it to the point that she could intuitively press on your specific emotional triggers in a way that benefits her, or at least makes you feel guilty of any behavior that she doesn't like.

And the fact that she cries once confronted with circumstances that she doesn't like, or is otherwise uncomfortable with, suggests me that she has yet to develop a fully mature personality that facilitates having healthy arguments with other people. I don't really blame her, I guess she is probably just inexperienced in forming healthy, mutually-beneficial relationships and is just practicing the behavior that enabled things to go her way in the past.

I don't have an answer to your question, but one thing I suggest that would benefit you, her and the dog, is to officially establish who exc

@lila Its confusing, but that's a bot.
Consider posting your replies as an answer on that question, else OP won't see it.

@ExtrovertedMainMan Also, regarding you two being "just friends": are any of your other friends behaving in a way that would make you have similar concerns as you are having about your ex-girlfriend. My guess is not. What would you do if any of them did? My point is, Sarah is said to be your friend but her behavior is not exactly friend-like. Answering these questions for yourself may help you get some perspective. Best wishes for you and Sarah, cheers.
@Criggie Haha thanks, but I know it is a feed/bot and the author of question won't even get notified :D I am just writing this to practice writing IPS answers.

all good :)

@Criggie As you can see, what I write isn't really good enough for an actual answer (for first, it doesn't really answer the question) :D

I think its a fine answer.

I still wouldn't think so, but thanks!

You would need to backup some claims ;) The need for backup usually helps simplifying the answer also. You usually trim everything that's pure opinion
You just try to make 1-2 claims and introduce them well
So here for example: You think they should clarify who owns the dog, that's the main claim I think? Then you'd need to find source or (sometimes tangential) experience that would indicate it helps setting boundaries. Well it seems trivially true but idk. Perhaps it could be best doing a question in that case
