@lila I saw it, thank you for the compliment! :p And yeah the worm has some unexpected effects on our brains, as it's taking a toll on our mental health and overall well-being ... Thank life for internet, or else I'd feel quite lonely right now
Also, morning everyone!

Morning

6:22 AM
Hey AJ! Any chance you have a Friday joke for us? :)

Ael
7:16 AM
Morning people :)

@Ael hello! :)

Ael
7:40 AM
@lila You are not being a nuisance and groaning and moaning is probably good for your mental health, so I would say: keep doing that!
@avazula Hey, what's new in ava's world? :D

7:59 AM
TGIFFFFF
That's what's new hehe
How are you doing @Ael?

Morning!
@lila :(, i'm tired too
@avazula you bet

Ael
@avazula I'm doing nicely :) Though I just learn that one of my coworker that I bounded with is leaving the company in a week (their contract ended) and it makes me a bit sad :(
Also, I wish it was way quicker to write a book because I want to read what happens next in all my favorite books ><
(Really good books are so amazing, I just want more)

@Ael aw man :( it sucks when someone you like leaves for another company
I feel you, I've been reading quite a lot lately hehe

Ael
@avazula Oh really? What kind of books? Anyone with LGBT+ main characters?
(sorry for the edit spam ^^')

8:14 AM
@Ael non fiction mostly. One of them is a 900+ pages compilation called "Queer zones" so yeah, no non-LGBT characters in this haha

Ael
@avazula That sounds nice :D Though I'm not really into non fictional stuff

@Ael Last fiction book I read was Ubik ... I need some time to get back to it, this book shook me to the core haha

@avazula Since you love bees as well, I got a bee joke for you.
> I went to the pet shop and asked for 12 bees
The clerk counted out 13 bees and handed them over.
"You've given me one too many" I said.
"That one is a freebie"

Good one @AJ, thanks :)

@avazula Hum, I may have read it when I was younger (this one or another one from the same author). What I remember about? It was weird, I didn't really understand half of things and I decided after that that Philip K. Dick was not an author for me ^^

what a strange question on SO stackoverflow.com/questions/64023188/… Someone asks something with an obviously flawed code. 2 downvotes for this, but 6 answers. And finally the question gets closed for a completely arbitrary reason
weird stuff at work

@avazula So I just told this coworker that I was on the autism spectrum and they told me they were wondering if them were on it too. I told them that I think it's a strong possibility that they are indeed and then we literaly spend one full hour talking about that (even though I was very much suppose to work ^^)
Anyway, I gave this coworker a lot of ressource about autisme. I also gave them advice and responded to there questions and it was very cool to be able to help them, a (probably) fellow autistic person :D

that's amazing @Ael! A coworker of mine got diagnosed recently after I told him about my autism and he realized we shared a lot of similarities on the spectrum.

Ael
@avazula Oh, this is so cool! I gotta tell you that ava: We are awesome! \o/
(this conversation with my coworker really made me happy :D )
In fact, I am so happy I am currently kissing my favorite Teddy Bear (who isn't a bear) :D

10:09 AM
ayy!

@Ael 🤔

12:00 PM
@AJ That's what happens when I am "too" happy. I feel the urge to give hugs and kisses so I usually end up giving those to: the book I am currently reading/a random pillow/one of my teddy bears/even the back of my hand sometimes

12:40 PM
hi

A J
@Ael You don't pat on your back? :P
@lila yello

green

Ael
@AJ Unfortunately, my arms aren't long enough/flexible enough for me to do that :p

Okay I will jump on the bee bandwagon :D @avazula What do you call a bee that's indecisive? A maybe.
@Ael That's cute ^.^

A J
> Did you hear about the beehive bees can’t get out of?
I heard it’s un-bee-leaveable.

12:45 PM
:D
@avazula Why do you love bees?

A J
For honey, of course :P

Ha ha it would be a good joke on itself if you say that with a mumbling voice to intentionally make it unclear whether you said honey or money :D

@lila I'm a beekeeper :)

1:24 PM
@avazula Aha okay makes sense ^.^

Ael
1:37 PM
@lila Though with the name @avazula, it would have made more sense if ava was an A keeper rather than a B one :p

badum tsum

@Ael :D

2:28 PM
@Ael I'd like to believe I'm a keeper ;)

@avazula but you are
hi there

oh hello!

Why did the bee get married?

Mhm.. I don't know

...to go on a honeymoon

2:37 PM
because he found his honey

hahaha

btw i married last month :))

both answers are great
@kscherrer I was about to ask you about that! Congratulations :)

Congrats!

thx <3

2:38 PM
and yeah, long time no see

guess you found your honey hehehe (are you a bee though?)

of course
a cashbee

oh, right

you still know my real name, wow :)
yeah i've been trying to avoid chatrooms a bit

uuhhh... an elephant never forgets?
or something like that

2:41 PM
i didnt' dare to say that

I still say "Dear Cash" to avoid naming god(s) sometimes haha

how are you both doing?

@kscherrer you too are troubled by these time-sucking spaces that seem to defy the laws of physics?

@avazula yes, I too watch american politics

haha
I'm good. I returned to TAS recently after moderating behind the scenes for a while and a two weeks vacation. Feels good to see everyone again. How have you been doing?

2:44 PM
I tried reducing my timewaste during work. Turns out, I just find other things to make the time go brrr

Exactly! After my vacation I tried to cut all things that distract me... and failed miserably. Turns out my brain needs a lot of different inputs to produce its best work (?) Some people are like that apparently.

Well, Iv'e been a busy bee - a marriage doesn't plan itself. New games have come out that I love, and I am already planning another big event for a friend group

That sounds amazing!

I'm planning basically my own version of "Task Master", a great british panelshow. have you heard of it?

I started playing video games recently (I won't dare to say "again" because when I last played Steam wasn't even really a thing already). I still have a hard time with board games, but it's getting better
@kscherrer not at all! what's it about?

2:49 PM
5 contestants (usually known comedians) have to solve many strange tasks while being filmed. Then later they get together and another guy judges their performances

oh wow

"Here are 3 jars of baby food (self-made). Find out the ingredients. most correct ingredients wins."
for example
1 extra point for the one who eats the most

Google: "baby food ingredients <brand>"

google self-made

ah, missed that

2:52 PM
haha
sounds like fun

it promises a ton of fun, but organizing it will be arduous
i can recommend watching some episodes though, they're all on youtube, full episodes from the official taskmaster channel
i understand if you don't find the time. Just saying 😃 i watch 'em with my wife every evening, she loves it

I'll have a look!
It reminds me of a similar game, I think it was a TV show back in the 90s

@kscherrer Hi welcome to the Awkward Silence.

@lila hi lila. Oh a new Mod? o/

@kscherrer Haha yes, I was thinking I am probably the smallest moderator, but I once found a moderator with even smaller reputation of about 700. But yes, let me introduce myself: hi I am a smol moderator ^.^

3:06 PM
or maybe it's me that hasn't been here for some time ¯_(ツ)_/¯

lila is a mod on Pets :)

we haven't had any election this year yet

4:20 PM
@kscherrer congratulations!!

3 hours later…
7:38 PM
@CaldeiraG Aww that's gross! :D

Ael
8:15 PM
@avazula You most definitively are <3

8:50 PM
@avazula In the past I had never cared a thing about beekeeping, of course I knew how important bees are, etc. but I never seen anything to it, but a few years ago I started watching one of my favourite content creators - mostly because of his videos of playing around with interesting chemicals, precious metals refining and bio-experiments with shrimp tanks - but he is also a fanatic beekeeper, his playlist has 109 videos about this, since then I am always so sympathetic to all beekeepers :D

9:24 PM
@avazula I've for example learnt from him that if you want to help beehives survive and you place sugar water inside the hive then bees use it only if they really need it because treat it as if it was a frame of honey, but if you place it in external place then bees have incentive to get it fast before bees from other hives, so it's better to place it outside if you want to prevent sugar water from spoiling. And he was putting marbles in that sugar water to prevent bees from drowning ...
@avazula ... and I think it was somewhat cute ^.^
@avazula I mean I assume you know all this about bees, but I'm telling you that because I want to impress you ^.^

Q: Too important to discuss

Kevin KostlanSome topics are too important to talk about. The most obvious in 2020 America would be being white talking about black lives matter. However, taboo topics extend well beyond title IX minorities; here are a few that can be relevant to one's quality of life: Wages and coworkers. If your wage is unu...
