@dhein The name doesn't really have a "meaning" per se. It's just that 1) I love name that start with an "A". 2) I love the sound "l" and "m" (there is no "m" is AElis, but there is a "l"). And 3) the letter "æ" is often use in the feminist/non-binary community to avoid using gendering word.

@CaldeiraG IMO, it's much more easier on Linux. In fact, when on my windows work laptop, I copy-past the letter x) But I "write it" for real with my windows (it's under the "g" letter, you just have to do a "Alt Gr" on it)

æ is actually an danish letter similiar to the german ä :D I was always wondering what your connection do denmark was '^.^

I really want a cat but my family has deathly severe allergies to animals with fur so I have to make do with the street cats. (And not really touch them because then I get fur on my clothes and that's bad.)

...and so like this one cat will always come over and want pets but I can't

So, one of my coworker is Spanish and, when I told her to call me Ælis, I also told her that I was non-binary and used the pronoun "iel". So she decided to go ahead and look what was the equivalent of "iel" in Spanish! *-* <3

Yeah. I thinking my currently Sandbox question might do the trick if I post it at the right time (the keyword "autism" do tend to attract a lot of attention. Not always in the good way...)

I'll try and dive into some literature/books once I have the energy, and find a nice topic to ask a research question again :)

My last one did get an answer but it wasn't very well. Maybe I'll write a self-answer to that one first.

On a slightly unrelated rant note:

I've been putting off having the company laptop upgraded to windows 10, because I was considering getting rid of it (I never have to use it, so all it does is gather dust, take up space, and give me headaches when the company starts whining about upgrading it). Now, I got an e-mail this morning from my manager saying that I should hurry up because windows 7 is officialy deprecated.

Just now, I got an e-mail saying they already prepared a new laptop for me :/ I don't want to have to update another one every month just to never use it...

@Tinkeringbell :/ Do they know you don't even use your laptop?

@Ælis Nope. It's one of those nice fully automated 'systems' where they know you have one, so you have to keep it up to date (makes sense, but isn't a satisfying task if you don't use it)...

I'll put it on the list to deal with tomorrow, there's a bunch of company crap I'm planning on working through already. I wonder what happens if I make an appointment to turn in my current laptop but never pick up the new one ;)

I'll see tomorrow. Most of the tools this company uses need edge or internet explorer to work, which I don't feel like logging in to now.

Also, good luck with dealing with those "company crap" things. It really doesn't seem fun

It's okay-ish. I need to finish two more parts of a three part training, and figure out what the next step is for that lease car. And the laptop stuff.

It's just... it's going to take me almost 2/3 hours to do all that, and I'm also still supposed to work 8 hours for the client.

So it's crap, less weekend :(

Changing subject, I think I found my good resolution for this year: "Be vocal about your needs". So far, it's both terrifying and exalting. It's a chance for me to make my life better, but it's still gonna be hard to do (and exhausting)

@avazula Sometimes, when I'm not at home and a little lost, I have to give instruction to myself out loud (otherwise, I don't get anything done). Like "spoon" then "orange juice" then "milk", etc... So I will also sometimes say "toilet" and then go to the toilet :p

I've gone through at least 3/4 pillows. But I stuff toys tightly.

For some of the bigger toys I made, I might've needed a whole bag of that HEMA stuff...

There's about as much in those cheap pillows. Though it's of a lesser quality.

It might also have bits of scrap fabric in it, for example.

Ah yea, I like the HEMA stuff because it's good quality. It shapes very well.

The reason I was looking at stuffing on bol was because someone asked me how much it would cost them to crochet a life-size Snorlax body-pillow.

o.O That sounds like fun and very expensive. Though if you can get a cheap second hand bean-bag...

@Belle pretty much, yes. Acrylic can be a lot cheaper but won't last as well IMO so cotton it definitely better

I also prefer cotton over acrylic because of it's melting resistance and environmental impact.

Acrylic is nice and cheap though :)

But I am guilty of buying way too expensive yarn... I especially love silk. I'm working on a silk, alpaca and mohair mix scarf. Sooooooo soft.

@Griffin Im referring to when I use a toilet in a private home, not a public toilet with a cubicle, there is no way to easily wash ones hands before flushing there so I do so the normal way. I assume the door handle in a private home is probably going to be clean unless others dont wash their hands. In case of confusion the steps I follow are: do my business, use toilet paper, wash hands, flush with paper towel or foot, leave room — Vality 7 secs ago
