Aaaaaw!

I've been getting pictures like that ^ from coworkers all day yesterday and today :P

I understand they liked your present :p

Yep! Only our scrum master hasn't posted a picture yet. I hope that doesn't mean he didn't like it!

11:30 AM
@Tinkeringbell Cool!

@Tinkeringbell I hope so too haha

Well, say Hi to Ælis for me? And enjoy your time together! :D

@Tinkeringbell they're resting a bit from their trip but I'll sure do when they wake up :)

Q: How can I convince girlfried that relationship and her doctorate is possible?

schaedelkeksBackground I am dating a japanese woman in japan for two months now. Until now we reguarly meet each other on weekends and were talking during the week mostly with instant messaging. I never told here directly "I love you" but that I really like to spend time with here. I planned to tell here tha...

Ugh, you all sound like you're having way more fun than me today. I'm moving :(

Moving is good too! Make it fun ;)
Are you packing? Unpacking? All at once? :P

2:15 PM
Having a game night tonight :) gonna head out and shop a little before
I also got a new fitbit- the Fitbit Versa Lite!

@Tinkeringbell neither. I packed this week. Today the movers came to take my things to the new place. Tomorrow the same for my fiancee. Then we unpack and the cat gets several new boxes toys

2:43 PM
@Rainbacon <boxes toys> beds
I thought it was strikethrough

2:57 PM
@Rainbacon oooooh... Lots of courage to you!

boxen toys beds THRONES!

Fedora loves @Ælis already

@ankiiiiiii strike through is 3 - on each side

(Aelis is below her if you're wondering lol)

Ooh, kitty
The worst thing is that we have to do this all over again tomorrow

3:08 PM
@Rainbacon Moving is never fun :(

@Rainbacon :(

@Ash nope, but at least it means I get to start living with my fiancee

user15026
@Rainbacon This is true, and that's pretty great :D

How's your process going for that?

1 hour later…
4:17 PM
@ankiiiiiii strikethrough markdown is three hyphens in chat, and the <strike> or <del> HTML tags on the main site
BTW, @Ælis might check this one out since it seems to match your criteria: scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/214513/…
Unless you didn't want fiction. I forgot

user15026
o.O wow I am getting a surprising amount of rep from my answer on that lawn mowing question.

4:43 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ gotcha! and ofc RB too!.
@Ash That was nicely put.
But i wonder why personal experience can be too much of a requirement?
I mean 1. maybe they are using analogous experiences. 2. It can be lied about too.
3. it is like what I see in photography too. People stick to rules which can be broken for a more fruitful and aesthetic result.
Again I am not doubting the high command.

4:59 PM
@ankiiiiiii Analogous experiences are fine, as long as you can explain your circumstances and the result, and how it ties in with what's described in a question... Take interpersonal.stackexchange.com/a/4998/1599 (taking one of my own, as I remember those best, sorry) as an example: It's about brothers, not friends. It's about picking a ride, not dinner... but it explains why the results may be similar. So, if used carefully and judiciously, analogous experience may make excellent back up
As for 2, we have to assume good intent. But one can only write so many answers/questions about something made up, eventually there will be a slip up and that we may act upon.
As for the photography... Stack Exchange is a site for questions and answers, not for discussion or opinions. Take a look at this blog post, where they write about that. The result of breaking the 'rules' here would likely result in a site that won't ever graduate ;)
Up to you to decide if that's more fruitful and aesthetic ;)
In the end, the whole goal of back up and citation expectations isn't that we only want people to come together and say 'Oh, I've been in exactly the same situation!'. We want people to say 'I've handled things this way before, and given your circumstances you might get the same result!'
IPS is not some kind of support group, where you find 'fellow sufferers'... it's a site for questions and answers about Interpersonal Skills ;)

Bookmarked it!
okay I get it.. There were some things which have evolved into something and they cannot(or shouldn't ) be questioned.
@Tinkeringbell Coincidently, yesterday itself, someone used the same phrase for the site after a quick(real quick ) glance at it.

The site is known as many things to many people. Some find it too leftist/feminist/LGBTQ+, others get upset if there's anything that's not leftist enough... Some people think this is a site where you can dump any problem, others think we're so mean no one with a problem would ever come here if they were in their right mind...
I just want it to be a Question and Answer site about Interpersonal Skills ;)

5:17 PM
@Tinkeringbell I respect that. It is a real good site.

I respect your respect. Respect all around
I just saw 40 percent discount on respect. Imma buy it

2 hours later…
7:15 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Thanks for the link :) And I am,indeed, looking for fiction
Also @Ash the book you recommended about the warm and fuzzy space family was wonderful, I already finished book one and started the second one

user15026
@Ælis oh my gosh I am so happy to hear that! I love those books quite a bit.

7:33 PM
@Tinkeringbell You are indeed correct fellow sufferer
@Ælis I'm guessing SciFi would have quite a few then
I'm (supposed to be) busy these days, I'll be able to read whatever I want, as much as I want, in 19 days.

user15026
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ What's in 19 days?

Some important exam
(An exam that'd take months of preparation)

user15026
Well, I hope it goes well and then you have lovely thigns to read after :D

Thank you! I'd probably go for binge-watching some movies first, probably

user15026
That also sounds like a fun plan.

7:47 PM
But I'm personally one of those "deaf readers"
I'll pay too much attention to what I'm reading that I won't notice the world around me. To such a degree that sometimes I see it's 5 a.m. when I'm done reading
Well, not deaf, but just mind numb?
(Not that I'm implying hearing impaired people are like that)

I'm like that, too lol I'm definitely a bookworm

It's just what the literal translation implies in my culture. The word for "deaf" has two meanings: Someone with hearing impairment, and someone who's oblivious/ignorant to what's going on around them
@ElizB something something great minds

haha yeah

OT for Skeptics but check this out

Q: Does psychological abuse exist?

d-bThere is a pretty extensive article about psychological abuse on Wikipedia but as far as I can tell there is not one mention of someone being convicted for just psychological abuse towards another person (after reading the article I also searched specifically for "convict" and "judge" but found n...

Hmph, I'd wager there are some people who are skeptical "psychology" itself even exists.
Then there are those weirdos who confuse you AND themselves by wondering if anything is real.

8:13 PM
Ehh. Don't you have something less loaded and more happy?

I might
@Tinkeringbell movies.stackexchange.com/questions/101547/… <- Very good question. Very awesome OP. They're an amazing person. I don't say this a lot about people usually.
@Tinkeringbell Then there's always chemistry puns
The answer is NO. — electronpusher 22 hours ago
@Ælis this sounds like my type of humor, but you might enjoy it scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/170449/…

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Cute ;)

8:29 PM
Also how the heck is that still HNQ

Just.. you said you liked hanging out in this room a lot recently, I think part of what makes this site so awesome is that we don't really drop other sites problem posts in here ;)

It's not about MCU or DCEU or GDPR (Basically the only entertaining abbreviations in the past decade). And Hot Fuzz is 12 years old

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Ooh! That looks like something fun!

@Tinkeringbell Sure, it's just my way of making conversation (or a monolog)

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I meant the one post about emotional abuse ;)

8:31 PM
I'm not really picky at what the topic is about

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Hahaha just keep the stuff in here a bit lighter and it's fine. We love seeing awesome questions ;)

@Tinkeringbell Huh, I moved on from that. I actually think it'd marginally be on-topic here? Scratches head I mean, considering the recent on-topicality discussion about that light gas thing.
To me, gaslighting doesn't sound like making someone question their sanity, but YOUR digestion. I mean, that's what I think about when it's a gas that can be ignited. Hint hint.

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Yeah you're going too fast for me on mobile ;)
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Those always end up going horribly wrong

@Tinkeringbell Wha, I thought one mod privilege was typing 10 times faster than the puny mortals

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ perhaps on a PC and keyboard, being totally sober ;)

8:34 PM
@Tinkeringbell especially on dates.
Interpersonally uncomfortable, as well as intrapersonally

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Never had that problem :)

I don't think burritos are very popular there.

Nope, they're not. Especially not as date food

I mean, like, I imagine Netherlanders and Germans to, like, eat cardboard or something. You can't possibly have something fun!

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ stroopwafels!

8:37 PM
Almost as much as a westerner would think I drink camel milk for breakfast
@Tinkeringbell Oh that word again

Waait, You don't? Next you're telling me you don't set ships on fire either.. :P

Nope. And my future wife doesn't have a tiger for pet

Boooring :P Cardboard for breakfast sounds more exciting ;)

I also don't trade slaves in gold coins. And don't dramatically drop them on a table where they make the bling sound
And not all obese people wear goatees in my country. Wait.

So there's no obese women? Or?

8:41 PM
@Tinkeringbell I also imagine your eyes are square-shaped or when you laugh your second "HA" comes two full seconds after the first

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ No, it's not that bad. I'm a parrot after all, just some exotic import here ;)

@Tinkeringbell Well I was thinking in the context of slavers. And they're always men
@Tinkeringbell That's a pretty useful skill with all the voice-operated electronic devices

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Alexa... ALExa... ALEXA

9:34 PM
Love that name
Cortana as well
But I doubt I would make my kid a favor by naming then after these dumb technological marvels

Dumb marvels?
I love Google Assistant. Which is named Nancy. I mean Helen. I mean Google Assistant.
I too would probably not name my kid Google Assistant.
P.S. it's smarter than everyone else. A study proved it. I don't remember how it proved it or why that matters, but it proved it and I can further my point.
