7:49 AM
morning

3 hours later…
10:43 AM
morning, we had a somewhat concerning all hands meeting discussing our work schedule of 3 days in person and 2 remote per week... thankfully they're keeping that into next year but i am worried that they want to have all days in person
Omicron variant is slowing it down so it seems

Ugh, it would suck to have to go back to the office fulltime. But yeah, omicron (and a new massive wave of 'old-fashioned' delta) here seem to be slowing a lot of things down again too.
Lots of deaths, I read an article yesterday about how one funeral service provider has started using special refrigerators just because there's no keeping up.

Omicron's kinda ... looking like the "evolving into being slightly less lethal"

Still, that doesn't say much... if it's less lethal but people still will get long-covid, for example...

True
Or it could be like Sars or Mers where it evolved itself into something like a common cold

Well fingers crossed. I do hope no capitalist boss decides before that process is fully completed that a few wage-slaves are disposable, so everyone can come back to the office despite there still being a risk of e.g. long covid.

10:58 AM
Already started

hoping all variants will evolve into something less lethal doesn't seem like the best long term strategy, but i'm hoping as much as the next person

@JourneymanGeek Fair point.

they'll just make you self test and stay at home until you don't test positive

Replace 'no' with 'none of my capitatlist bosses' XD

I've been doing that all covid.
@AlexRobinson hoping as a stratergy, hell no
Hoping as a way to get through.... this <censored> <censored> BS of a <censored> virus putting your life on hold for years?

11:00 AM
@JourneymanGeek can we get the republicans to chip in with their constant "thoughts and prayers" :p

Hope is nice. :D Faith Manages, Hope pulls you through :D
So I'm hoping it finally happens again
(since my views towards covid, are the same as mine towards ticks as a former dog owner... it can go extinct, and I'll celebrate)

it should have gone extinct by now but a lot of politicians are playing politics rather than helping people :/

11:23 AM
Yeah, politics are... not to be pleased with at this point.

3 hours later…
2:08 PM
Morning.
Never heard the term 'long Covid' before.

PASC?

Nope.

Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection ?
What's it called over there then? Surely there must be people chronically ill by now there too?

I've only heard it in general terms, like 'life-long symptoms' or something.
Possible I just haven't heard people talking about it, though.

First time I heard of long covid, I thought it had something to do with lungs (as 'long' is the Dutch translation of the English 'lung'). XD
It's pretty often in the news here, as it's apparently quite a bit problem
1 in 5 people still have complaints 4-5 weeks after getting first symptoms
After that, some are getting better still... frustratingly, the government site gives no more concrete numbers than that. But people with months or a year of long covid have been turning up in the news regularly so there must be quite a few of them out there.

2:33 PM
Ick.
So, how is?

2:49 PM
Sort-of wrapping up my day. I have two meetings, the first starting in 10 minutes, to go still... but I'm finishing up some programming first.
there?

Got in, fixed small thing, about to do other small thing... and then spend 7 hours either waiting (because person I was working with on big thing was pulled off to other thing) or trying to find more small things.

Oh well... there's worse ways to earn money.

Such as?

Having to actually work for it :P

Arguable.

2:59 PM
Everything is, with you :P

Arguable.

3 hours later…
6:24 PM
Derp.
It helps if I actually make a pull request.

1 hour later…
7:28 PM
XD yeah that should help :P

Q: How to let my older sibling and closet friend extremely annoying at times know that I need space but still care

adrioooSomeone I talk to every day on the phone for years and years and I'm now increasing finding it pointless to do so everyday. It isn't so much that I don't want to talk at all, period, but just that we are getting more and more distant I think mainly cuz our lives/foucus being more different - she ...

1 hour later…
9:12 PM
@ExtrovertedMainMan At first I thought this was about homosexuality.

or a very amiable monster in the closet

Or just someone whom lives in a closet I guess.
...Pfft and I typo'd 'closet friend' as 'closet fried' in the edit reason.
New budget cooking method.
