Well, one of my coworker "just" push something in prod instead of "preprod" (where we test stuff before the final deploy) but nobody noticed until one hour later I came back from lunch and was like "that doesn't seems right"

Ugh.

My scrum master left the standup crying this morning, and I still don't know how she's doing :(

She has two teams she's the scrum master of, and the other team is apparently an (collective) asshole.

It's all I know. She came in, gave a big sigh... so I asked what was up, she said it was the other team, I asked if they were being mean again, and then she started crying and said she was going to leave and if I could do the standup...

I sent her a message after, but haven't gotten a response yet. So...

maybe she just doesn't want to talk about it.

Or maybe she doesn't want to talk about it with someone who works with her? I mean, I'm more or less friends with some of my coworker, but if someone were to happen at work, I wouldn't want to talk about with them because I would be too ashamed

Oh, that falls under 'just doesn't want to talk about it'. That can have many reasons :)

We have had calls about these people before, where she vented quite a bit...

So it could be but I'm not sure.

In any case, I too hope she is more or less "okay" now

@Tinkeringbell To continue with the fun, after the push in prod, all my tests were automatically launched and reported "everything is ok". But they decided to do a rollback to be safe (which was a good idea) except the rollback failed and now we have a white screen...

In any case, I'm glad we are Thursday and not Friday: more time to fix it and make sure things have gone back to fine before the weekend

I 'deployed' a new data check to prod last night, haven't had any complaints yet XD Then again, 'deploying' that involved patching 3 servers, each in two places. And changing configuration in 2 places on each of the 3 servers as well, all manually.

I really want Friday though.

I just want weekend though! I slept an extra hour this morning and my eyelids are still drooping today... Just 1,5 more hours though, and most of it meetings :)

Then it's Friday, and I can do a tiny bit more work, and sleep. Sleep, sleep and sleep and show the new car to a friend, and more sleep :P

@Tinkeringbell I didn't had an "material" so I just put on a dark Noctali t-shirt, a dark coat with a very large hood. Then I took a picture in the "dark" and said that I was the "Bringer of Dream" who brings nightmare to "naughty" people

my boss suggested we open our own music streaming internal service for employees not to pay deezer/spotify. He seem to ignore law to a point it's a bit frightening

@Tinkeringbell I actually travelled during my "lunch" time. I took one hour to go to the train, then worked from the train during one hour, then had one hour break (because my dad had to fetch me at the train station) and now I'm back "at" work

I had to read the message three times so I was sure I didn't misread

@CaldeiraG I'd subscribe spotify if it was pay for what you listen. I'm a casual music listener that is perfectly fine watching a youtube ad for that single time of the week he went to listen his favorite tune.

If spotify was 1ct per minute listened to I'd obviously pay very little and be very happy, yet paying for artists a ton more than yt is currently doing.

and that's not bc spotify doesn't earn much or is very greedy, but because they have so much costs in marketting developpement infrastructure etc.

and must pay the major who in turn spends a ton in marketting

Im not absolutely certain but as an artist I think the most outcome comes from signing with a major. They get a bigger share out of CDs, image products, concerts, than from streaming but this is to be confirmed.

you have to consider GPM is shutting down in favor of YT Music

so that might change soon

atleast if they wanna be in the league and get contracts with labels

the biggest challenge with the artist rewarding is not the amounts, its the distribution. It's such a winner-take-all industry... although less so now the mass media is more decentralized

What is Awkward Silence's opinion and feelings towards people microwaving fish in the office, like or love?

I never microwaved fish... but I did do 'rookworst' from time to time, which also has a quite distinct smell that not everyone likes, and which travels far.

I learned to bury the worst under my stamppot ;)

I'm watching a youtube video about food in advertisement and this was a terrible idea. I have already eat but watching this video makes me want to except that I'm at my parent and have zero confort food available and they have look really not tasty to me ><

At least now you have something you could watch when you're not feeling hungry but should eat ;)

I wasn't planning on buying myself comfort food while at my parent but I have definitively changed my mind! I want to eat crunchy and salty stuff!

Try watching something gross next, something to take away your appetite. Horror perhaps?

@Tinkeringbell That's usualy only an issue when I'm alone. Watching other people eat makes me want to eat so I think I won't have any "I should eat but I don't want to" issue for the next few weeks
