@Tinkeringbell AAAAAAAAW THAT IS SO SWEET!
Good morning everyone

user15026
5:48 AM
@Tinkeringbell oh my gosh it is so small and so cute

user15026
(I can't imagine how small the hook must be)

@Ash I can't imagine how hard it must have been to craft something so small!

user15026
Same! I can barely crochet much bigger things lol

user15026
Like I feel like my fingers would get so tangled.

6:08 AM
@Ash , dude(sse?), i learned to knit and crochet on 1/4-inch laundry line with 3/8-inch needles. Sorry if you were being metaphorical, i'm not.

user15026
Neither is correct, and I am not sure what that has to do with my statement.

Sorry to misinterpret.

user15026
(I'm enby, so no gender marker really fits. I do applaud your apparent abilities to crochet, though. I am not good with fine motor skills, myself)

user15026
(I should also very much be sleeping right now. So I am gonna try to do that)

@Ash ! My entire life has been a struggle against being seen what i look like. Pleasant dreams.

user15026

You too, when you get to them.

Q: Handling boss who doesn't pays salary on time

SwizzlerAsking this mainly for my wife, not myself. I'm also affected by it since we live together. Please note that I'm NOT asking for legal advice. Legally I would know how to proceed, unfortunately its a very slow process and my wife doesn't wants to change job. It's a small company with only her an...

Hello people, how are you? My open space is noisy today I really don't enjoy that (I actually had to isolate myself in the quiet silence of the toilet several time). All this noise makes me want to run away ><
Anyone here to make this happen? (it's about "coworker" and "colleague" tag synonyme)

@Ælis Hah. I just had a moment last Tuesday where the office was unusually quiet, and it unsettled me. That office is a really, really, really big open plan space, with hundreds of people working on little 'islands' but with little/no walls so there's always a lot of background noise (to the point where it's just a kind of .. buzzing?)

8:56 AM
@Tinkeringbell Yeah, the changes in noise level can often be unsettling. Last week, I was at my grandparent's house and I sleep in a different room that I usually do, I was all stressed because the room was too big ^^'

@Ælis Oh! And then the wrong side of the bed is against the wall (or no side at all), and I can't get comfortable without that wall XD I have that often in hotels, and yeah, big rooms don't really help me either.

Maybe it's what is left of our instinct who tells us: "big space are dangerous, small space are safer. We need to sleep in a tiny space for safety"

Similar for me. When sleeping, the from a laying on my back position right side needs to be close to (but not directly at) a wall
otherwise I can't sleep very well

My side of the bed is against the wall. It feels more comfortable to have a wall behind my back.

In summer, I usually sleep against the wall because the wall is cool :)

9:03 AM
When I'm very stressed, I often do the "sandwich" technic in order for me to sleep. I put one pillow under my belly, one pillow against my back, a blanket on top of that and only then can I sleep

9:42 AM
@avazula mine too, but there's a little bit of space you could fall into which unnerves me
@Ælis That doesn't happen to me but I keep thinking to myself OMG the room is big and I'm wasting some potential by just sleeping in it

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ :(

10:16 AM
@avazula Don't worry, I'm not claustrophobic. But I'm suddenly-wake-up-and-get-stuck-and-your-back-hurtsophobic.

Q: How to reapproach a girl that I liked when last conversation did not end well?

Fred WeasleyToday I talked to this girl that I liked for the 3rd time (the previous conversation ended fast and awkwardly). The conversation was going quite well (she likes dark chocolate!) until some of my idiot friends that walked past us decided to shout 'yeah you go Zac!' and started laughing. She said b...

@ExtrovertedMainMan Fred Weasley FTW

1 hour later…
12:11 PM
Today, for the first time, I decided to go outside during my lunch break in order to buy food (take away food). It was nice and not as tiring as I thought it would be. Maybe I will do it again next week/month (instead of eating the industrial and ready to eat food that I usually bring from home)

@Ælis what did you eat? :)

@avazula Some Asian/Japanese stuff. It was a bit weird but nice (but I had wayyyy too much, I'm not use to eat that much anymore ^^)

@Ælis :p sounds nice!
I guess vegan take aways are easier to find in Paris :)

@avazula There was only one vegan option and I specifically targetted this restaurant because I knew there was a vegan option. But yeah, it was really close by and I knew there are other restaurants with vegan option that aren't that far from work (less than 10min walk). I would definitively have had a harder time doing that in my old (but still big) city

@Ælis yay :) that sounds nice

12:25 PM
Yep, Paris has many downsides but having vegan choice is really a great upside :)

I love the graphics in this question: aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/63717/…

@JAD Haha, now I'm imagining a puppet being shake in every direct x)

1:19 PM
@Ælis Oh man I haaaaate big open loud spaces. I hope you managed to hang in there!

@TheTinyMan The loudness returned to a more regular level after a while, so it was fine. Thank you for your concerne :)
I told a coworker "It's funny, you don't look old". It's when they answered by "But I'm not old!" that I realize it was probably not something to ^^'

1:45 PM
Happy Friday everyone!

@Ælis Oh no! That's hilarious though. How old are they? xD
@Rainbacon Happy Friday! :-D

2:11 PM
@TheTinyMan I'm not sure, but I think they are, at least, 10 years older than me. So, 33 years old

@Ælis Ahh, yes. Ancient. (I'm 34. :-P )

@Ælis You're younger than I thought

@Rainbacon How old are you?

I'm 26

@Rainbacon My partner's your age :p

2:16 PM
@avazula And you're closer to @Ælis age right?

@Rainbacon We're the same age, I'm 23 as well :)

Before I knew better I kind of assumed you were both closer to my age. You seem more put together than most 23 year olds that I know

I would have guessed that you were both a bit older than that, too. :-)

@TheTinyMan Oh, so you are a tiny old man then, you should consider changer your name :p (PS: I already knew you were more "adult" and "grown-up" than me ^^)

Although, your ages aren't nearly as surprising to learn as when I found out how old @Mithrandir is

2:20 PM
@Ælis Haha, am I more "grown-up?" Is that a compliment or an insult? ;-)

@TheTinyMan It is suppose to be a compliment ^^

@Ælis Well thank you! ;-)
So I should be TinyOldMan? xD

@TheTinyMan Exactly! But it wouldn't work if there is someone 50 years old or older around as they would see you as TinyYoungMan. Maybe TinyNotThatOldMan would be a better fit :p

@Ælis I'll just go with TinyJustOldEnoughMan

@TheTinyMan That seems fair :p

2:26 PM
@Ælis So how old is 'old' to you? :-P

@Rainbacon I'm almost 24 years and, to me, 2 years difference isn't that much when you are in your 20 something (but the gap might more be about whether or not you have a work and aren't living in your parent house anymore)
@TheTinyMan I guess a 50 years old?

@Ælis Oh good, so I'm not old yet! cheers

Haha ^^

2:41 PM
@TheTinyMan To be safe though, next time you are wondering if you are old or not, I suggest asking someone older (or way older) than you. This way, they are probably gonna tell you that you are young (and do everything you can to avoid children if you don't want someone telling you that you are old) :p

You should do everything you can to avoid children anyway

@Ælis Well yes, that's the cheater's strategy xD
But it was yooooour opinion I was interested in! :-P
@Rainbacon Truth, unless you specifically want them, which I don't! :-p

@TheTinyMan "Ælis, supreme judge of people oldness" :p

@TheTinyMan I don't blame you, I don't either

@Ælis Something like that! ;-)

2:45 PM
@Rainbacon I like children, but only when I don't have to see them every day and care for all their needs ^^

@Ælis I'm always worried I'm going to break them! Or talk about things their parents don't want them to hear about because I'm not alwaysa s good at censoring myself as I'd like to be. :-p

I just find them loud and obnoxious
can we get some delete votes on this?

@TheTinyMan Yeah, sometimes I'm like "would their parent blame me if I talk to them about non-binary people and that they should have the choice to express themselves in the gender they want?"

@Ælis Right? And then my next question on that kind of topic is, "wait, should I really care what their parent thinks if their parent might think that?" :-P And then I go back and forth.
Next thing I know, I'm kidnapping all of the children of people with politics that I disagree with and we don't need THAT! ;-)

@Rainbacon I did, but other downvote might just be as efficiant
@TheTinyMan Haha, that probably not the good way to do things ^^

2:52 PM
@Ælis I'll have to go with kidnapping young adults instead :-)

@Rainbacon Sometimes, they are (even if I would use "inconsiderate" instead of "obnoxious") but, when you teach them to care about other people, it's really gratifying

I'd use both of those words, personally. Sometimes it's perfectly valid for them to be loud and shrill but it still hurts my ears or makes me nervous. I wouldn't want to stop them from having their fun, but I still dislike it.

And it's weird because I don't usually have the same problem with adults behaving the same way!

@TheTinyMan Yeah, and then you put all of them in a room and go like: "Now you are going to learn empathy and open-mindedness!"

@Ælis Nothing like false imprisonment to teach empathy after all!

@TheTinyMan I don't find it weird ^^

3:07 PM
How does one add a regex to the comment bot?

@Rainbacon You need to be in The Closet for that

1 hour later…
4:37 PM
Waited 23 minutes for a sandwich I ordered and had to walk back to work in the rain that started while I was waiting, only to find out that they made my sandwich wrong :(

@Rainbacon They hastily made it in the first minute and spent 22 minutes figuring out how to explain it to you

I mean, I ordered a grilled cheese. How hard is it to mess that up?
Specifically, I ordered it with bacon and got no bacon

@Rainbacon .. no bacon, raining.. there's gotta be a joke about your username here :P

There's lots that can go wrong in a 1-minute sandwich

@EmC Oh man how did that situation go right over my head? :-D
Man if I had a fast food job I'm sure I'd make absent-minded mistakes freaking constantly

4:47 PM
@TheTinyMan Don't worry, it went over my head too

Rename to RainNANbacon

hahaha xD

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Or maybe Rain(!Bacon)

RainNyanBacon would be pretty awesome too but for different reasons :-D

Q: How to deal with ugliness in relationships?

Lonely GuyI am in love with a girl for over 7.5 years. I couldn't tell her about it thinking that it was too earlier and also I was her close friend. I controlled my emotions thereafter. I used to chat with her all the time and it seemed like she also enjoyed taking with me. So I thought this was the righ...

Do we have any good policy about rude language that isn't directed at others? For example, the most recent question has some not nice things in it that I'm working to edit out, and I'd like to leave a link in the edit message for the OP.

@Rainbacon hmm, I'm not sure if there's a definitive post, but I found meta.stackexchange.com/questions/177629/…
I just saw that and was about to rollback to your first edit, but if you're working on it I will wait :)

I was going to rollback, but I realized that I missed a few
The question should probably be closed until it can be edited to be clearer and more on-topic

yeah.. 3 votes already, just need to figure out what to comment..

I'm trying to think of a good comment, but there are just so many ways that I could address that post

well, I tried

5:35 PM
@EmC I think that was a pretty good job

thanks :) I feel bad for the OP feeling that way, but it's one of those things I'm not sure how much we could help with :/

Yeah. I don't know if there's really an on-topic question in there. My assessment of the situation is that the OP has some self-esteem issues. It's too intrapersonal

1 hour later…
6:48 PM
Oh, @Mithrandir I meant to ask. When you went keyboard only for a few months, did you try using any browser extensions designed for keyboard heavy/keyboard only browsing?

7:35 PM
A true literal keyboard warrior does not seek help.

7:47 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ this is true. Help feels so bad when it sees them on a site that doesn't support Accessibility and it seeks them.

7:59 PM
Well, I use a vim extension for chrome that makes it a little easier to navigate (but that's only because I'm used to vim)

There's a vim extension for chrome? That sounds amazing

It's called vimium

Ooh I like it, but I'm not sure about all of those shortcuts
Stuff is happening without me pressing :
O_O

Oh yeah, I've run into that a few times.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have great support for interacting with the text of a page. For example, say I was on a SO post and wanted to copy the example code to paste in my code editor, I haven't found a good way to select the text to copy it

Hmm yea I noticed there's not a great way to copy/paste

8:13 PM
It's kind of a bummer because that's one of the things I like best about vim
