The trick is to put them in an air current. Alternatively, put them near a different plant that attracts lice-eaters, like a cherry tree. They can stay in their pot, just put them near for a couple days.

@Tinkeringbell Just near is good enough :) Cherry trees have a symbiotic relationship with ants. You'll nearly always find an ant colony living near one. The ants will most likely wander onto your lice-infested plant and eat them too. The cherry will probably be fine as well, because it already has the ants protecting them.

Aww, that's good to know! There's plenty of ants around here, so I might not even need the cherry. My fault has likely been then that I didn't put my plants on the ground, but on a shelf.

@Belle It's... a lot ;) But basically I miss church and all that came with it a lot especially around Christmas, there's that upcoming outing with mom that got extended much past the single concert we'd visit, I was having a bit of trouble at work this morning (that's mostly fixed though) and I need my holiday in general ;-)
But I have new yarn incoming tomorrow, and the date to sign the legal paperwork for my new apartment is set to be the 24th, which means no paying 'rendementsbelasting' over my savings... that's generally good :)

If you feel you're being taken advantage of, it's better to allow that possibility that beat yourself up that you're a terrible human for thinking such things.
However, as always, if you start off an interaction with suspicion and lack of trust, then it's hardly bound to go anywhere nice.

@EmC IME that assumption helps you stop eating yourself inside and shape your further thoughts about the person and the ordeal after-the-fact, but, I mean, what can you tell the other person using that information that's not mean?

Weird twist on the job search. Last week a company that I talked with several months ago reached out last week to reconnect. I talked to their recruiter today and am talking to their head of technology on Wed. If we find a position that I'm a good fit for, and I'm interested, they could make me an offer by the end of the week.

Well, the application has on the order of tens of millions of users, so we need lots of code to support them all :)
Maybe? I'm not sure. I know one of my coworkers has been working on the upgrade project
Also, one annoying thing is that we don't just have to convert our code. We also have to convert a number of deprecated libraries that our code depends on.
