I really hope Gutenberg doesn't end up being wp.media 2.0. I still haven't wrapped my head around wp.media and can't find any definitive information sources.

the media library being written in backbone is possible the worst they could have done for readability =/

at least with GB you can learn react and redux and try to piece it all together

docs so far are much better than WP Media though

That's encouraging. Will Gutenberg replace the current media (backbone + underscores) implementation?

I've been treading lightly on Gutenberg because of the "if it doesn't ship, it isn't part of core" lesson. Once ships, then I'll go HAM :).

at the moment it doesn't

but the chances it will never ship are very very low

and if it did, and you run into issues, now is the time to tell them so those issues don't crop up

once it ships, backwards compat will be a limiting factor, it isn't at the moment

so "because that's a stupid way to do it, do it this way" is fine atm
