It's hard to see clearly how well the vaccinations are working as it's coinciding with the change of seasons which has had huge influences on infection rates each time it happened since this all started, especially if you watch both hemispheres. I still have my fingers crossed that we're passing the cusp but definitely can't be sure yet.

I'm pretty optimistic based on how things have been going so far—the mRNA vaccines have proven quite effective against even the variants—and the global pace of vaccination is staring to pick up. 28 million doses/day now, especially if the rate keeps increasing, should put readily accessible doses in front of a good chunk of the world's population this year which is a lot more optimistic than people had been saying. But it's still going to be a long slog with more outbreaks to get there
(and questions about the efficacy of some of the vaccines, like the Seychelles are seeing now)

In several/many countries the average age of those in hospital with covid has dropped as the older part of the population got vaccinated first. Then the overal numbers of cases drop as more people got their jab.
I just hope it works well enough against variants, as those keep popping up.
