Hearing less and less about COVID these days
I wonder if it becomes a fact of life soon
Like getting cancer or becoming a victim of a car crash. Tragic but seen as a routine matter

8:20 AM
@JonathanReez It appears to have a seasonal effect. Considering that Peru, with strict quarantine measure is now being hit hard, does not give me good hopes for the future
I am now in a tie for the may photo competition, awesome :)
And now I see Willeke's remark haha
@hippietrail In the Netherlands they researched the waste water from cities, and they found the coronavirus. Apparently they can see the peaks coming 5 days before surge to the hospitals. These 5 days can be very valuable. (They have the same data for coke for example). I don't think a lot of countries have this infrastructure to their availability though

@JonathanReez If you drink 2L of water at the gate you probably will just have to pee every half an hour for the first two hours. Maybe you're better of taking a sleeping pill?

@Bernhard Good luck! :)

@Willeke What is the practice for the end of a photo competition? Accept the most upvoted answer and say they are the winner?

11:33 AM
@Daniil, yes, if at midnight one photo has more votes than the rest, you accept that photo and declare it winner.
If there still is a tie, you leave it for a day or a few days, asking in the chat to break the tie.
It is up to you whether you only look at midnight (each further day) or declare a winner when there is a clear (few minutes) difference in vote count. Till now we had all photos still in the competition when the voting was extended.
And we mods can see whether the votes came in on a certain day, so you can ask us to have a look the next day if you see more than one vote has been cast and you want to know the midnight level.

Can you see the specific vote time? Because I can see the votes every day as well

1:10 PM
Never tried and I do not think it is needed for this.

2:00 PM
Or just declare two winners?

@Bernhard yeah it appears that all countries that didn't eliminate the virus at 100% (NZ, Taiwan, SK, China) were just wasting their time...
Lockdown or no lockdown, same outcome

9:15 PM
@Bernhard, we can only accept one post, that is the reason for not having two winners.

Q: What (if any) countries are either open to or have set definitive plans to allow international tourism?

Jacob HorbulykAround mid-March 2020, most countries entered some form of lock down in an effort to contain outbreaks of the novel coronavirus (nCov-19). As part of these lock downs, most forms of tourism were disallowed due through a variety of mechanisms such as visitor bans on non-citizens/non-residents, qua...

Greece is in the club!
hope to see 90% of countries on that list soon
and maybe even the 10% who truly beat the pandemic - perhaps they could allow travel between each other or for those who carry a recent PCR test
