Q: Children's book series where there are three main characters and horses

Mini88881I read this series around ten years ago, give or take a few years. There are three main characters, all girls. One of their names was either Lucy or Lulu, but started with an L. There are three horses. It's possible that all three of them with their horses were on the front cover. I think there w...

Q: What was the first science fiction story set in the future?

releseabeOne could argue that science fiction is very old indeed, but the early fantasy/science fiction (and "science fiction" is used loosely although maybe the ancient Greeks had stories involving automata?) tends to be set in a distant land or even another planet, not in the future. Rip van Winkle is s...

Q: Why did Belos not implement his plan sooner?

AdamantIn the third season of The Owl House, Belos, upon learning from the Collector that decided to take advantage of this to take over the body of the Titan by merging with its heart. However, Belos had had the Titan heart in his throne room for at least 50 years—indeed, it was implied to be a part o...

Q: How were Gambit's accent and the related jokes handled in the dubbed versions of Deadpool & Wolverine?

galacticninjaIn Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), Gambit speaks with his signature Cajun accent, which becomes a recurring source of humor. Deadpool jabs at Gambit for being difficult to understand. After Gambit introduces himself, Deadpool quips, "It's been a while since I've seen Sling Blade. Hit me again," refe...

Q: How strong is Saitama?

rip_voidWe all know Saitama from One Punch Man and hes incredible strength to one shot all of his opponents. After reading chapter 166-168 where Saitama fights against cosmic Garou, we see a panel introducing Serious punch squared. The power from Garous and Saitamas fist was so powerful that it could hav...

Q: Colonized solar system that has asteroid belts but no habitual planet?

Jeff DegeI remember reading a novel set in a solar system that had a very rich asteroid system, significant resources at the gas giant Trojans, and no habitable planet. Which had had a very rich civilaztion until interstellar trade had collapsed, but since isolation, lacking the resource depth that a habi...

Q: Can I have some help identifying/locating this show I’ve been trying to find?

SippsI remember this show that I watched in the mid 2000’s that I believe I watched on Netflix. Unfortunately I’m having trouble with recollecting the entire premise, but I do remember that it consisted of a group of characters that all had some sort of elemental companion or beast. The only identifyi...

Quiet here, as always, so I can grumble a bit in peace.
Don't think I've ever run into so blatant an Informed Attribute as Jazz' supposed "genius" in Weir's Artemis. A "genius" who can't think two steps ahead? Who doesn't apparently have the slightest clue how to plan for contingencies?
I mean, I'm okay buying a villain protagonist if they're interesting enough. (Jhereg anyone?) So that's not the problem...
Bah, I'm glad it's a library book. I'll give it another go tomorrow, but right now it's really looking like a DNF.

Q: Novel where a girl finds a book of drawings (I think from someone in a coma) and it inspires her and her friends to do criminal art

Sean DugganI think I read this around 2020. I can vividly recall where I was when I was reading it, an event space next to my town's pool and community library (I was completing reading the book so I could check it in). There's a decent chance that I was going for a walk midday, which likely means it happen...

Q: Scifi/Horror Anthology TV Episode featuring a man and a woman waking up and restarting events repeatedly

NerdGuy 101I can't remember this episode or show and have been searching for years. It must be something in the vein of Monsters, the Twilight Zone revival, Outer Limits, Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Darkside, Night Gallery, etc. But here's what I remember. The episode featured a man and a woman wak...

Q: Is the Ildatch a metaphor for the Bible?

Kristian BerrySo once upon a time, Terry Brooks wrote a very favorable introduction to Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials (or more specifically, at least one edition of Northern Lights, but my memory of the exact details is unclear). Like, I wish I had a copy at hand, to see if it could help justify my questi...
