IMDB’s description: A data courier, literally carrying a data package inside his head, must deliver it before he dies from the burden or is killed by the Yakuza. The year is 2021. There is a global pandemic. Called Covid…err NAS (nerve attenuation syndrome). I think this is a disease from using social media. Johnny (Keanu ... Read more

Q: Urban "fantasy" from the 80s - seniors in a condo community draining the life force of a young tenant couple

Italian Philosophers 4 MonicaThis was an airport horror novel from the 80s with a "scientific" urban vampire twist. Starts out with a young couple searching for an apartment in an expensive city (NYC?) who find an amazing deal in an apartment complex. They get interviewed by the residents, who are much older, but look amaz...

Q: Has there ever been a Marvel television show with a (consistent) opening intro with sung/spoken lyrics?

Peter NielsenMarvel has a slew of television shows that it has released over the years, from MCU television shows more recently (Wandavision, Loki, Hawkeye, and more) to ABC/Hulu/Netflix shows (Daredevil, Runaways, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) to legacy animation television (Spider-Man, X-Men (1997), and so on) as...

Q: late 90s, early 2000s high(?) fantasy YA trilogy

guestguestAll I remember from this trilogy was that it was 3 books in 1 giant book, a little over a thousand pages long, and I read it around 2010. It was already somewhat old by then, so it's possible the first book was published in the late 80s. I think the third book title had something to do with a cir...

Q: Sci fi short story about automation leading to less meaningful work

ManicDeeThe opening of the story is about a particular software suite taking over the day to day management of a fast food store. The workers wear headsets and the computer tells them what their next tasks are. Then a bunch of stuff I can't remember happens (falling out with friends? running away from th...

Jon B 5x5Golden-haired comic villain who could do mass-hypnosis with his voice. Wore a suit and tried to get a crowd to attack gov bldg. Not a Trump joke. Our heroes stopped him, maybe by unmasking? Definitely from the 80's.

Q: Did Leta Lestrange sacrifice herself in order to protect one or even BOTH of the Scamander brothers in The Crimes of Grindelwald?

Kyle VIn order for the sacrificial protection to form, the victim must be given the option to live, but consciously chose death. This is what Lily Potter did for Harry Potter. She was given the option to live (by Voldemort), but she consciously chose death. In Crimes of Grindelwald, Gellert Grindelwald...

Q: American 1970's movie "DreamScape"? NO plot of aliens, children, monsters, violence, crime, dinosaurs, genetics or time travel

GrandmaMeowScientists develop headgear apparatus to record someone's experiences. Other people buy the recordings and wear the apparatus to "feel" the experiences. Example: various adrenaline activities and learning applications. It backfires when a man dies after he "loops" a continuous orgasm. Thought Ell...

@Marvin Well, I feel like a bit of an ass, apparently helped in driving someone away by explaining why their question got closed as a Duplicate.
@Skooba @TheLethalCarrot Personally, I thought your edits were fine, as I noted in the comment.

General editing complaints because they don't understand the site and I don't understand the rest of the complaint. Meh, if they're gonna get that upset over something so little I don't think you could have done anything else to keep them. I don't think you drove them away; they drove themself away

Ah, and I now see that deleted answer. Which... it wasn't a great answer, but I'm not sure it deserved the rapid deletion. That said, water under the bridge.

Oh different Q/A
I don't like the deletion of story id answers if they name a work; unless the OP has already accepted an answer

Deletion doesn't seem totally unreasonable if it's a different medium entirely than what's described in the question.

Q: Nitpicking; Federation starship designations

Woody QuinnI seem to recall that in TOS the "NCC" designation referred to "Constitution Class." Yet all seen Federation starships seem to have that designation. Shouldn't the Enterprise -D be "NGC-1701?" Not nitpicking" The KLingons and Romulans apparently have dozens of dreadnought- size ships, yet the Fed...

Only had a quick look, yeah not as bad in that case especially for a shorter answer

The rub is that it's an underground fallout shelter. The landlady, a widow who lives in the house above, explains that her husband bui...

Q: What's the show & episode where an inmate escapes jail via astral projection?

Brad303I'm rather confident the show in question was something like Tales from the Crypt or Tales from the Darkside, and aired in the late 80s or early 90s. In the episode, a young and soon-to-be-released offender, with a penchant for tugging his ear lobe, is in a cell with a grizzled lifer who proceeds...
