Q: Is New 52 Superman's "Super Flare" portrayed as powerful enough?

Russ RainfordI'm thinking in terms of energy release. Comparatively, it's been likened to a massive Nuclear explosion....however, if the New 52 Superman is anywhere near as strong as our version, than "all the solar radiation in his cells" should yield much greater energy considering he is capable of literal...

malikc6In this scenario, the Hulk (MCU, not comic 616 Hulk) has been driven insane by unknown means and will rampage and kill until nothing is left. Q: Does any science-fiction handle the ethics of teleportation ("kill and clone")?

WikisThere are various ideas behind teleportation but the top two seem to be: Disassemble someone and transport the exact person (matter / energy) to a new location and reassemble. Clone someone at a new location (different matter) and destroy the original (or destroy the original first and then cre...

Q: How did the Ring allow Sauron to retain his human form?

mu 無I was reading on Tolkien Gateway that Sauron fought with Gil-galad and Elendil, and both were slain. As Elendil fell, his sword was broken beneath him. Yet Sauron was thrown down, too, and Isildur seized the hilt of his father's sword and cut off the finger on which Sauron wore the One Ring....

Finale of Siren season 2 is pretty sick.

@Jenayah Do you mean "sick" trying to be hip-idiomatic, or "sick" as in "I kinda wish I could get that image out of my head?"

Sick, as in, "well duck, that got real bad, real fast"
then "ooooh. Okay."
then "Okay so, I'm fine with the above. Oh. Wait. Shit. Had forgotten that."
then "yep, bad's only starting"

Greetings, Earthlings.

So, The 100 season 6 was entertaining, but it wasn't as good as season 5.

@Jenayah That could have been my cold reading. "Season N+1 was not as good as season N" is hardly ever false.

Oh in that case that's not true
Season 3 was awful
I think my order is something like 2 and 4 > 5 > 1 > 6 > 3

Q: When Should We Edit a Title?

SlytherincessThe most common edit other users do with my posts is to edit my title and change my title's formatting when the formatting is already correct. @TheLethalCarrot Except, of course, it's not even in title case, since "of" and "the" are capitalized...
I Can't Stand Trying To Read Text That Has Each Word Capitalized. It Feels Like Someone Is Trying To Be Declamatory, Or Pretentious. And It Doesn't Read Naturally; It's Impossible To Scan.
3
Fine for the 2-5 word title of a book or story, but not useful or helpful for a full English sentence intended to be a meaningful question.

@TheLethalCarrot the point of lowercase is for readability
Title case is weird and confusing to read

Q: What Is The Fastest We Have Seen Jay Garrick Travel?

opticyclicWhat is the fastest that we have seen Jay Garrick travel in any continuity? I'm interested in the issue number and page (image if possible) that he actually travels at his top speed rather than a quote saying "because of this power he can travel at this speed".

Obviously I'm not about to fight a war on this, but I do believe it is counter-productive (and pretentious) to insist on title case.
Aug 6 at 20:04, by DavidW
Besides, "community moderation" sometimes means just rolling your eyes at the "community standard" and moving on. You can't win an edit war with the community at large.

5:07 PM
@Stormblessed it might be more readable to you, and I prefer it, but that doesn’t change the fact we shouldn’t edit just for style which title case is

I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into a CW-style show.

@DavidW does that HTTP-linked image embed?

Yes, it did, but maybe because it's same-domain?

@DavidW oh mwyb
Or maybe it’s that it redirects to HTTPS at the link?
@DavidW does that show?

user132126
All of SE is HTTPs, so there's a server-level rerouting in to forward all http traffic to https

(Some random photo from ISDB, which is not HTTPS-security)

8:49 PM
@Stormblessed Nope, that one's broken.

@DavidW yup it’s SSL
Your browser only shows images loaded from HTTPS sites

That fits the observed behaviour. Is it the browser, or the SE chat client?

user132126
Or an extension, like SSL Everywhere or something, that tries to force everything you see to HTTPs and anything that breaks breaks.
