I'm not sure what to do. Should I change the question to match the answer?
Nope both question and answer are fine, especially considering you say in the question "although other universes or media would be interesting supplementary information."
Your question is saying I want answers from the comics but barring that anything else works too
@Thunderforge tbh I think I'll go around writing an actual answer with several panels and stuff, buts it takes more time than I have right now :P
17 hours ago, by Jenayah
@Marvin Basically, lots. I might come around with a comics panel for each one of those some day but it won't be today.
As for the top answer being movies whole question was mainly about comics eh blame HNQ
@Jenayah I'd imagine that movies answer pushed it into the HNQ and the question does explicitly allow answers from there
But nah don't change the question to match answers, you want answers from comics it's fine (and way more canon :P )
Okay, I'll leave it as is then. I appreciate the feedback!
15:12
So long as changing the question doesn't invalidate any answers I don't see anything wrong with it. But if an answer wasn't exactly what you wanted, don't change it either because someone may come along with the answer you really want.
@Jenayah I look forward to seeing your comics answer!
@Thunderforge no ETA though :P and you're welcome for the feedback!

@TheLethalCarrot Does that mean I can't answer it since you already quoted me?
Meh and coming home first implies not missing the tram
Lol, go for it if you want
16:58
@Alex it's only my opinion, but I for one like "too long, didn't read" paragraphs better at the beginning of the answer. I think it's clearer and already gives the reader a hint of what you mean - this way you don't have to re-go through the answer when you've only began to understand when reading the last paragraph
TL;DR - brief summary and answer... conclusion at the end if you want still
I agree though TL;DR at the top
Kind of when you write an essay... You have an abstract at the beginning saying "here's what it's about, here's what I did, and here are the main results"
@Jenayah Hm, that is why I put the first sentence: (Skip to the last paragraph if you're not interested in the analysis.) Are you saying that's not enough?
@Alex I'm saying I don't want to be bothered to scroll all the way down and potentially miss the actual last paragraph
Another point, it's not a big deal with HP answers since they're mostly text but when reading a comics/movie answer with pictures you might not know what to expect and have mildly NSFW content when scrolling down
To me in anything that's a longer read it's easier and best to have a summary before the long read
17:03
@Jenayah I tend to agree with you that there should normally be a summary in the beginning. However, with certain conclusions, having the summary at the beginning seems kind of anticlimactic.
Like: We don't know. Blah Blah Blah. We don't know.
Safe for work depends on the workplace of course but while a bunch of text can't be deciphered from one meter away, your boss/folks etc can think "oh hey, Joe's looking at comic panels while in class/work. What a lazy joke"
I quite like We don't know headings... saves me the effort of reading something if it turns out there is actually no known answer
And in ASOIAF/GoT means I can place the We Don't Sow meme
@TheLethalCarrot That's my point. It kind of makes the rest of the answer pointless. Why have 10 paragraphs of analysis if we already know that we don't know?
@TheLethalCarrot to be qualified, a "we don't know" answer can be proven by crosscutting info etc making it for a good read still

@Alex dang I can't find the Academia question again but there was something along these lines
@RDFozz :P
@Jenayah Having the TL;DR at the beginning is a courtesy to the reader; a lesson I learned WRT emails, as I've had a reputation of writing books. Those who are interested (even when the answer is "We don't know" will read on.

Amalgam Comics was a publishing imprint shared by DC Comics and Marvel Comics, in which the two comic book publishers merged their characters into new ones (e.g., DC Comics' Batman and Marvel Comics' Wolverine became the Amalgam character Dark Claw). These characters first appeared in a series of twelve comic books which were published in 1996, between the third and fourth issues of the DC vs. Marvel miniseries.
