Q: Was it ever explained why The Pagemaster (1994) had so many actors from Star Trek in it?

Robert ColumbiaThe 1994 film The Pagemaster cast the voices of a rather large number of actors then famous for their work on Star Trek, including Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, and Christopher Lloyd. Robert Picardo and Ed Begley, Jr. were also part of the cast but joined Star Trek as part of V...

@DavidW is there anything that can be done, really? I've flagged for mod attention and apparently the CMs have looked into things and said it's all hunky-dory. I don't feel like directly calling the user out is a good idea, so aside from making vague comments here and there, what can be done to make this stop?

Q: What about the other 35 children who were born in the same manner in The Umbrella Academy. Do we hear what happened to them in the comic or TV Show?

NJohnnyI never read the comics and have recently watched the first 2 seasons. Apparently in both the comics and the TV show they stated that 43 women who had not been pregnant, gave birth to super powered babies on the same day (October 1, 1989). We know that Hargreeves was able to adopt 7 of them and T...

Q: Were the Balrogs of Middle-Earth essentially empty vessels of Morgoth?

Bob TwayIn the role-playing game supplement, Moria: Through the Doors of Durin, there is a section on the Balrog of Moria which makes some curious statements about Balrogs in general: The Balrogs were tools of Morgoth, and obeyed his will in all things. They had, it seems, little in the way of desire or...

Q: Conspiracy "documentary" where the intro scene has a submarine in space with a swastika on its side

Jus BThere was a movie I saw many years ago that was made in a documentary style. I think it was on YouTube or something similar and I specifically remember these details. Nazi bases in Antarctica. Reptilian living underground in Antarctica. The opening scene with a Nazi submarine in space. Possibly ...

Q: Father and Son treasure hunters that ends with finding one last shipwreck (childrens/young adult)

SkoobaLooking for a book that I read in school (mid 1990's, USA), so likely published in the 1980s or early 1990s. It was about a father and son treasure hunting team mainly looking for shipwrecks. The lived in the American South, most likely Florida. The story starts with family doing well having rece...

Q: Did Loghain abandon the plan at Ostagar because the beacon was lit too late?

Lucas Y.In the prologue of the 2009 video game Dragon Age: Origins, the battle plan at Ostagar was relatively simple. King Cailan led a contingent of his army in facing the invading darkspawn horde head-on, trapping them in a valley. Meanwhile, a small strike team was to ascend a nearby tower and light t...

Q: Identify a book about travellers in a desert telling stories

Piotr BojkoffIt was a book I read somewhen 2010 to 2020 from one of the numerous Soviet publications of adventure novels and stories collections or an imitation thereof (borrowed from one of my then-friends' home library, I believe; it is not--or at least was not--uncommon to find books like that around the n...

Q: Novel where people kill duplicates of themselves on a spacecraft to trick an enemy

scottefIn the early 1980s I read a science fiction book involving a colony ship, where the hundreds of passengers (and perhaps all crew as well) were in deep sleep for a long voyage lasting hundreds of years. Some evil group was trying to kill the particular people on board, and they couldn't be challen...

Q: How did people know that the war against the mimics was over?

Peter MDuring the majority of the Edge of Tomorrow, Cage resets to about 24 hours prior to his killing of an Alpha - which occurred in the middle/afternoon of the day of Earth's offensive attack. This means on his death he always resets to the period just after he was railroaded into combat. (But afte...
