@AncientSwordRage Thanks! It's a bit of an arbitrary number, but considering how futile the rest of the week has been, I'll take it. :)

@Alex no, it's just that it only works with real-life people, not fictional characters :)

Q: Someone with a power of 'XP counter and allocation'?

MaladySomeone told me about a (likely-internet) story about someone with the power of 'XP counter and allocation' where they used "comic book trivia" as an easy source of experience to shift into some other skill? Does anyone know this story? That's all the information I have right now, unfortunately.

Q: Memorably stupid line from very old movie

ab2Long ago (perhaps 1960s) I saw one of the worst science fiction movies ever made. I remember nothing about it except it was awful, and contained the following line (which I may not remember 100% correctly): Any quantum mechanic could fix that. That's it. Does anyone know anything about this tu...

Q: Short story or novella from the 50s-60s set on a planet of Rigel

Bill PInvolving an earth man on a planet circling Rigel, where the green-skinned natives (called “Klahari” or “K’ahari” as I recall) are attacking and wiping out the colonizing earthers. Although Rigel is so far away from the planet it appears only as a very bright star, earthers must wear special cont...

Q: Invading spaceships land on Earth; aliens have differently coloured helmets

VinceThe aliens wear different colored helmets depicting their rank or discipline. Earth is fighting a loosing battle. People find a cave to the aliens' underground headquarters or barracks. I think some people kill an alien and steal his space suit and the tide turns.

Q: When did Obi-Wan know that Anakin was Vader?

Sophie the Jedi KnightAt the end of RotS, Obi-Wan believes that he is leaving Anakin for dead on Mustafar, disappearing to Tatooine. While he knows that Anakin is not entirely dead at the end of their battle, he leaves Anakin's death to the Force. However, when Obi-Wan faces Vader in ANH, it is established that he k...

Q: What is the comics equivalent of the Makluan Rings?

Infinity MilestoneIn Iron Man: Armoured Adventures, we see the Mandarin try to, and successfully unite the 10 Makluan rings, which led to a series of events, which though we will not discuss, leads to an interesting question - What is the Comics equivalent of the Makluan rings?

Q: Game with inherited space station

mwarrenI am trying to remember the name of a PC game where you are the child of an asteroid miner. The father dies in some sort of tragic accident (maybe) and you inherit his mining rig. I think you are then accused of his death (or something else) and are sent to a prison. You break out and somehow are...

A: What does this bit of Cockney mean?

llySo this is a 1985 send-up of 1950s British Teddy boys' (≈greasers') personal hygiene as part of a general bit on Brylcreem, although it doesn't seem like that whole episode of the Six O'Clock Show has been uploaded anywhere to allow the full context. 1955, Saturday night, off to Tottenham Royal....

I think I might know the quote OP is referring to, and will post an answer if he can edit the question to get it opened up. — WolfieSmith 1 hour ago

Q: Cli-fi with vignette of men prying up concrete parking lot to reverse damage to the soil

Invisible TrihedronIt's a piece of cli-fi, climate fiction, set after nearly everyone has died. The Earth's climate has stabilized again but it's not hospitable. The very few survivors have satellite views and old recordings. What I remember is a brief vignette that describes how people realized too late that the e...

@TheLethalCarrot and keep in mind that a good bunch are auto-handled as the comments at stake contain the words "accepted", "thanks" etc :)
(that's about 42 flags yesterday in total)

Of course it was 42 :)
I've heard binge flagging is not good for you
Or is that drinking?

I don't drink :P
(well, alcohol, I mean)

Me neither really

zero alcohol
@TheLethalCarrot eh, you weren't a mod when I was exhausting my daily flags in summer '18 on outdated comments. Ask @Randal'Thor :)

Uh. Aggressive summer comment-flagging campaign was aggressive. Per https://scifi.meta.stackexchange.com/q/12259/98028 it would appear I'm responsible for 16% of flagged comments in 2018 :D

@Jenayah You have, um, drastically swelled the average flags-per-day on SFF recently. But we're coping :-)

@Jenayah Having time for a flag binge seems like a good sign ... is your RL stuff getting better now?

@Randal'Thor hm, not really. Yesterday's flat bing ewas more along the lines of "well shit, my phone literally died today (it's stuck when booting), so gotta do stuff on my computer instead - oh hey flagging is easier on the computer while I'm here, let's do that"
Well I'd been repeating for two years that I would only change my phone (which was already showing signs of defect) when it would stop booting. It heard me, we're there now

Since Trading Places and Coming to/2 America share the same universe, is Billy Ray Valentine continuously mistaken for Akeem Joffer?
Also, will that be the next sequel, Trading American Places, in which Billy Ray and Akeem switch places and somehow hilarity ensues?
