Q: Are Americans overwehlmed by comics (captain america, x-men,...) and holiwood?

linux89640I believe that virtual world is rising. On the other side, literature, romans, reading, learning, sciences, maths, ... things of importance might be interests. Virtual world replaces the reality. Matter of a fact, because the offered sweets are easy to take. Are Americans overwehlmed by comics ...

Can anyone think of a famous physicist who's like Richard Dawkins?
That is, an outspoken anti-theist, someone who actively goes around evangelizing against religion?
Obviously there are plenty of atheists, Steven Hawking was one, and Higgs too.
But while they didn't hide that they didn't believe in any religion, nor were they actively against religion the way people like Dawkins or Hitchens are or were.

Q: Why was New Asgard established at this place?

codeczarIn Avengers: Endgame it is shown that New Asgard is established in Tonsberg, Norway. What is the reason that they chose this specific place for building their land to live? Does this place have any specific importance or is it due to some Asgardian History?

Q: Trope identiication and earliest examples: Stereotype exists because of banished people

jo1stormTrope described: Humans live (quite far) away from race/species/distinct group of people called X. There is a lot of negative stereotypes about the X. They are all dishonorable, thieves, murderers, chronic liars. Or they are all criminally insane. Or they are all crazy inventors whose inventions ...

Q: Book - society of humanoid people that practise open relationships until they reach a certain age then have a monogamous partner

user3526461I think they lived kind of adjacent to a human race that had technology. They were the protagonists of the story. I read it around 20 years ago and it was probably about 15-30 years old then. They possibly lived in a jungle-like setting and there was a feeling of some kind of magic.

Q: Medieval show with magic gem

user117807I can’t remember much because it was a long time ago, but I remember there was a a guy with a magic gem, a girl, a big guy (I think he was blue), and an old man. It was a cartoon with a similar art style to slugterra. If anyone can tell me that would be great.

@Adamant Yeah, it's (currently) less efficient by energy production over area than solar power (and I think wind power, too)
Also toxic waste is objectively not a good thing

Q: Badge symbol in notification is of the site you're on, not where badge was earned

Kate GregoryIt's so cool that the notification reminds you of the colour of badge you've earned. But I am a little puzzled by the symbols: Is it feasible to use the symbol from the earned site? At the moment it uses the symbol from the site I happen to be on (as you can see by looking to the left of the...

^_^ I love it when a vague question results in a cogent answer that matches.

6:11 PM
I don't know why people are so quick to downvote some of those story-id questions. Yeah, some of them are pretty vague, but a lot have at least one distinctive element that will prompt an answer from the right person.

Sure, but if some dude posts about one sentence, you know they're not puttin' the effort in. Perfectly distinct 1 in a million detail notwithstanding.
Also, those animated 5 GB ads and their 2 minutes of loading time are getting a bit annoying.
What's a scifi site got to do with sports betting?

Pretty sure those aren't supposed to be showing up.

Q: Animated movie about space farmers and BIG blue aliens that had more then one eye and were taught how to do kung-fu by protagonists father

Filip MátlI know this animated movie might have been 3D and it was possibly from pre-2011. In it, there were these space farmers. I think they wore orange space suit sometimes and the protagonist’s father was missing. I know there was also the concept of dimensional jumping maybe? The protagonist knew s...

@Marvin that was hard to edit...took a long time (especially due to the dang mobile site)
@NapoleonWilson I for some reason have literally no non-community ads. I have tracking protection off for SE, too (annoying to have to turn on and off to do CAPTCHAs)
You’re in America, right?

Me? No.

That might be it, then
Oh yeah you’re German right?

Because...in the US internet advertizing isn't...such a big thing?
I'd have a few doubts on that. ;-)

I don’t know, they might use a different company or something here
Oh you don’t have an account on SF? That’s probably it
@Jen are you getting lots of flashy ads?

@Stormblessed That's exactly why I skipped it instead of trying to fix it. :)

Uh...I do. And I also have more than 200 reputation, or whatever the ad threshold is.

@Stormblessed I'm on mobile, so no ;)

janusOne is a regular size man and other is very short person. i think he is the one who invents the gadgets and the tall one uses them. I remember an episode in which tall man disguises his car ( by projecting a semi truck) to confuse the bad guys. It aired the same year as Air Wolf, I think.

@Jenayah - Since you speak French, couldn't you translate the answer?
Although I am not sure it's really an answer anyway

@Adamant I could but the translation + trimming down to make it non-NAA feels a bit much for something that's almost only speculation anyway
And something that OP should have done in the first place

Q: Some weird random ellipses in the Bounty Grace Period Started emails

StormblessedI got this email a few days ago on my bounty entering the grace period: This looks pretty weird. Q: What do Boxings look like in Era 2?

StormblessedIn the Final Empire, coins were called "Boxings" because they had Kredik Shaw on the back, the "box" the Lord Ruler lived in. However, the Final Empire fell about 345 years before Era 2, yet they still call coins Boxings (see Shadows of Self, prologue). Have Brandon or the books talked about what...
