Q: What happened between episodes 15 and 16 in season 5 of Arrow?

YetAnotherRandomUserI'm catching up on Arrow, and I'm currently in season 5. I think I missed something between episodes 15 and 16. Episode 16 starts out with Oliver in the mountains at some place assuming that Prometheus is a student of Talia. I don't recall seeing that covered in episode 15, and I checked the o...

@Stormblessed ikr
I know that the official title is Vengadores: Endgame, but I was thinking about what the translation would be.

12:25 AM
@Adamant not sure what you mean

@Stormblessed Well, they obviously chose not to translate Endgame.
But that doesn't mean that no equivalent term exists in other languages.
Endgame comes from a chess context.
So what do people call it in Spanish?
What I am seeing final, final de partida, or even final de juego.
I guess the problem is that the most common term seems to be just "final."
Which is kind of vague in a title, and probably doesn't immediately bring chess or any other such game to mind.

@Adamant oh, that’s what you meant

@Stormblessed some by accident, some not to get the rep that goes with it. For instance, for story-id answered in comments, there was a meta about how to handle the answering part. Basically, it's a tad bit more classy to make the answer CW if all you were doing g was providing a name and a copy-pasted Goodreads blurb.

I'm not overly thrilled by Captain America stuff in general. Which is one of the reasons I thought Endgame did a great job. One of the very few Marvel material which genuinely made me like the character.

Yeah I think the CA films are perhaps a bit too serious

Too serious isn't necessarily a bad thing, but too "morally perfect so that it becomes uptight" can be

Hate true but the Marvel films with a bit of humour are certainly the better ones

Ragnarok was excellent in that sense. I found it was the one where the humor was flowing the most naturally
Hey people, out of curiosity, what's your favorite MCU movie/show so far?

Yeah it was really good and probably one of my top MCU films
My favourite is probably either Ragnarok or GotG

7:32 PM
@Jenayah Haven't seen any of them.

Not to late to begin.

i really liked IW and EG as well but they’re in a different boat
Hard to compare in some respecta

True. IW and EG are a bit out of the list as they're the convergence point

TBF all of the later MCU films have been pretty damn good

eeeeeh

7:34 PM
What’s your favourite?

hmmm...
The original Avengers, I guess.

Interesting, that was good, been a while since I’ve seen it

Even if there were some really great movies after that, you can't really beat the feel of Phase 1 ending
The first "convergence point" of the shared universe.

i like the storyline of AoU and how it fits into the outlook of the Avengers is pretty good

Seeing them all teamed up eventually, with the theme cuing in and the camera rotation - heck, that was a hell of a shot even if simple

7:38 PM
Age of Ultron certainly touched on motifs beyond what the internet hype culture is willing to give it credit for.
(Not that this is unusual.)

On "solo" movies probably Ragnarok.

In retrospect those films all pretty much blend into one, so it's hard to pin down a best one.

(note that, in my mind, CW isn't a solo movie)

@Jenayah Community Wiki?

They're all...nice, with the best one usually being the one...I saw last.

7:41 PM
@NapoleonWilson true.

Though, there are some that stick out, like Ragnarök and its 80s appeal.

Reverse question, which one did you think was the meh-est?

Even the first Thor was much better than the internet thinks it to be.

@Alex Civil War. Okayish movie, terrible adaptation.
@NapoleonWilson ? First Thor wasn't over the top but still good.

Civil War was a little overrated, although it was of course nice and entertaining like all of them. I liked Doctor Strange much more from that year.

7:43 PM
Now second Thor movie... Heck I think that's the one I enjoyed the least in the whole MCU

Meh-est? I wasn’t too fond of BP and it’s been a while since I’ve seen it but TDW wasn’t great if I’m remembering it right

See, you can't even remember it :P

Well, if The Incredible Hulk counts, the opposite question is really easy.

I only watched it once and accidentally but it in before the first Thor haha

BP at least had a bit of novelty to it. Compared to what had been done before in the MCU

7:44 PM
Oh I still haven’t seen TIH
i think it’s the only one I’m missing now actually

@NapoleonWilson oh. Right. There's that one too.

If anything, Black Panther, overrated for useless polticial bullshit it might have been, certainly had a great and sufficiently unique production design and soundtrack going.
That was the categories where its Oscar nominations didn't look absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah it was the story line of BP that was meh for me

Well, I didn't find it more bland than a lot of other MCU storylines.
They're superheroes, there's only so much they can do. ;-)

ahah true

7:50 PM
I'm also really glad I didn't let the internet keep me from going to Captain Marvel. Alsmost made the cardinal mistake against sanity there.

What's the internet saying about CM?

Captain Marvel was pretty good

Apparently it didn't like it much.

Most MCU stuff I read on the internet is SE
uh, what's not to like? It was pretty good
I mean... You know who the traitor is after five minutes of film but still

Well, I don't know. People said she was too cool and arrogant. But I found her super likable.

7:52 PM
Didn’t people have a problem with the girl power stuff? I can’t remember I didn’t really follow the complaints

Just sayin', are the people saying "she's too cool and arrogant" also saying "Tony Stark is dope"?

@TheLethalCarrot That's what you'd think indeed. But then I heard the same complaints from reasonable people, too.

'cause talking about cool and arrogant, well, Tony...

Well I think there was at least some sexism going’s on

aye

7:53 PM
my gf wasn’t too fond of her, found her a bit annoying and arrogant but I didn’t mind it

I mean there's always going to be sexism going with a female superhero movie
Or actually, pretty much any female-lead movie

sure, people are arseholes

Well, it's the general internet bullshit that's wrong and exacerbating everything into insanity.

@TheLethalCarrot yup
@NapoleonWilson also yup

On the other side you had people complain that Black Widow being sad about not having babies and falling in love with Hulk was sexist, which is equally stupid.

7:55 PM
-_-

I liked their relationship but found it a bit too underplayed in EG

Just because female don't have to be treated as breeders doesn't mean gals wanting babies is sexist
@TheLethalCarrot what realtionship? They had a relationship in EG? Did we watch the same movie? They barely talked to each other

No, apparently if you want to be "strong", you have to be...male. ;-)

@Jenayah that’s precisely my point

I was being ironic

7:57 PM
oh thought you’d misunderstood my comment haha
i mean you have all this buildup and then he buggers off to Sakaar and then it’s like not really mentioned again

yep

I wouldn't be suprised if it was because "fans" complained about their relationship too much.

grmbl

In that case you’d hope they’d drop it completely but barely mentioning it, especially after what happens, is just daft

Oh, so they did mention it?

8:00 PM
You know what that actually may be worthy of a question

We’ll implicitly I think with what Hulk tries to do

Writing that up, there may be an interview or stuff out there
@TheLethalCarrot yeah, but who wouldn't have?

True but I mean he almost kills himself
He takes it further than others would I think

Can think of at least one other who would've

well yeah him too
i can’t think of any other references, implicit or otherwise, about their references in EG
need to rewatch haha

8:03 PM
aye but could be an interview a tweet or something

you start searching I start asking? ;p

@Jenayah I’ll check in a few minutes, is it blocked by GDPR?

@Stormblessed nope but it was pat of an answer that was saying "if you're in the US you can watch that here"
well it was an other link and I put that new one in as the previous one was dead

Well what’s the question references to their relationship?

8:06 PM
the site loads here but there's no video to be seen, only a rediretcion to Hulu, but maybe my computer just doesn't load something
@TheLethalCarrot yeah IDK, something along the lines of "is there commentary on why they forgot about their buildup"
like, even in the first Hulk scene, there's no particular interaction betwee him and Nat

No it’s pretty much forgotten

There is no video there, but I'll try with Chrome (I have very strict blocking in Firefox)
Yeah, just links to Prime and Hulu

Thanks
well let's leave the link in the answer, it doesn't hurt

What the duck
In the middle of typing a Chat message I got logged out

uh?

8:17 PM
I saw what you typed and kicked you preemptively.

re-uh?
how fast was that?
I didn't see anything :P

(I can't actually see what people type before they press enter. So...I didn't really.)

oof, fortunately you can't
that would be so wrong on so many levels

@Jenayah found something about Nat/Banner but it’s relating to IW but makes sense with what we see in EG

8:26 PM
Probably was cbr

Meh, not really sure how to phrase it without it potentially sparking the usual rants
plus if it's what's in the article above there won't be much more to say
I dunno

Just she moved on cos he left haha

hey, spoilers
kinda

Well AoU spoilers

I don't know. It's hard to judge what's a spoiler when you've seen it all

8:32 PM
True
And harder if you don’t care about spoilers like me

@NapoleonWilson Amateur.

@Jenayah I think that SE you improved changes the intent of the question

@TheLethalCarrot crap... I saw the question and its comments but missed the part about it being dupe-closed by OP
rollbacking now
@Marvin I just wantd to point out that searching for that lead me to The 100 books, which is funny because OP's username is Kane

TBH I thought it was clear it was asking the dupe before the OP confirmed the closure hence why I voted haha

Dunno if anyone will get that but still wanted it written :P

8:42 PM
Ahah!

So... Did you get it or are you just laughing so that I don't have a great moment of solitude? :P
Oh hey
The 100
season 6 is like, in two days!!

@Jenayah Neither. I was just messing around.

There's gonna be motherfreaking [REDACTED]

I don't know nothing about any 100s.

TV show, with a rather inetresting worldbuilding and plot, and surprisingly less stupid no-brainer YA stuff you'd expect. Enjoyable even if not the best thing there is out there.
Also a series of books
But the first book corresponds to the first episode ahah

8:48 PM
Yeah, I know it exists, I've seen some trailers on TV.

second book doesn't really match much of the show. Or the other way around, I suppose.
Actually the books and the show are quite different. The books are also very short, you can read the first one in like, less than an hour.
I picked them up at the library to see how the original work looked and finished them in barely no time, thankfully there's the show ahah
Oh, now that we're talking about it I gotta update my M&TV answer with book quote some day
If I find it in English

@Jenayah That's...not even a novella then, it's a short story.

I read fast though
goodreads.com/book/show/17332969-the-100 wait, 323 pages? That stuff I read had way less than that
