CMC: Given an 2-dimensional array (matrix) and a pair (x, y) representing the coordinates of an element therein, replace the element at that index with its biggest of its (von Neumann-) neighbours (only North/East/West/South neighbours, diagonal neighbours) and output the resulting matrix.
