Let's not promote an elitist culture here, where rules don't apply to everyone equally. That's my final word in this glass house. You'll see me again if there's any bad critiques. Out

@amWhy I doubt flags are invalidated by moving messages, because they remain attached to the same message id. But anyway, hope you don't mind if I clean up a bit?

@Did sure, you said, "what part of this answers this question". That's rude. Every single part of my answer, in it's raw form, answered the question, or at least answered it in a way I would have liked it answered when I was in the asker's shoes wondering what exactly is a discriminant anyway.

Who's to say there's anything wrong with the answer in it's raw form. In a public forum, it's a matter of taste that rules the day so long as you're still on target and you address the question. You came in and just one-lined everyone's answer like a rude person would.
And I like how my other answer that day got down-vote bombed. I suspected this was a popularity contest, now I have my proof. Woe unto you o Barons of MSE. Shame.
@Did all of it answered the question

@AmateurMathGuy "That's rude" No, this (signalling inaccuracies in anyone's post) is how the site is supposed to function. If you do not like this feature of the site, then find another site. (On the other hand, declaring that somebody said something they did not actually say is both rude and a lie, both on the site and elsewhere.) "Every single part of my answer, in it's raw form, answered the question" No. Actually it is rather surprising to see that you stick to this fiction since ...
@AmateurMathGuy ... every potential reader can go and check by themselves that you are delusional on this. Well, your choice, I guess. "In a public forum, it's a matter of taste that rules the day so long as you're still on target and you address the question" No, not on a math forum. Bad luck for you, mathematics is this rare activity where one can declare that some point is right and some other is wrong, unequivocally. This is even what every mathematician is supposed to do. If this ...
@AmateurMathGuy ... is a problem to you, try some other activity field. "just one-lined everyone's answer" No. Once again, this is demonstrably false, simply by reading the page. "now I have my proof" Fantasy land.
@AmateurMathGuy OK, after a while, enough is enough. If you wish to dig even further the hole you put yourself in, please do so, but excuse me if I do not feel overly concerned. Deal?

@Did I feel equally hopeless that you can understand anything I am saying. I said no falsities in any edition of my answer. I reject your critique as unfounded. You think I can't understand what you're saying, and I know you don't understand what I'm saying. You seem too proud, too entrenched to acknowledge that I answered the asker's question appropriately, while providing context that's not subject to any mathematical axioms. The part that's right or wrong I got right.
What inaccuracy did you signal?

@SimplyBeautifulArt Ignore my last few posts, save that it is open for deletion now. I know the asker posted the question twice within minutes of each other; in any case I'll send a couple of my comments to trash, as superfluous.

@Did The OP seems to like my answer. Where are the inaccuracies?

Y'know, it's probably best not to have these conversations in the trash. It gets kinda stinky :P

I only come in the trash I don't have conversations.
