@terdon, I'm setting up a dupe finder for Unix, needed a small help from you.

2:31 PM
@BhargavRao What do you need?

Hiya @terdon \o

o/
Hey, how come I'm blue here? Has SO chat been moved to the main chat servers?

@terdon no, you can make a SO based chat on SE chat also

Ah, I see.

@terdon Ntn much, do you have an answer that is a complete copy of another answer? (from the duplicateanswers queue or somewhere, just need one post to check).
I waited for 2hrs, but looks like unix doesn't have as much traffic as SO :(
@terdon yeah, just to make sure that no one can kick you :p

2:35 PM
heh
@BhargavRao You mean one that isn't deleted?

yep
API doesn't return deleted posts.

2:46 PM
Not off the top of my head but I'll keep an eye out for one. Next duplicate content flag I see, I'll let you know.
Might take a while though. . .
Why don't you post one yourself?

:|
I don't want to get answer banned
Or NVM, I'll let it run throughout the night. Let it find one itself.

@BhargavRao You won't! Certainly not for posting one identical answer. That just raises a flag, no more. And I can handle the flag so, again, no worries.

@terdon nopes, kinda scared there. It's fine, I'll wait. :)
But yeah, @terdon, Do you get any plagiarized answers? If it is 1 or 2 per week, then setting up an infra would not be worth the effort.

@BhargavRao I doubt we get 1 or 2 a month or more than 5 a year.
U&L is really a very well behaved site.

@terdon :(
Started out with the wrong site

2:52 PM
@BhargavRao Depends on your point of view ;)
What are you doing exactly?

> Stack Overflow is the biggest site on the SE network, but the other sites have their fair share of plagiarism. Adding these should approximately double the load on the bot, so this might not be feasible at the moment.

So, you're working on some bot?
I have absolutely no idea what any of this is about.

Argh, I should have told about that first

OK, I see. OK, I really doubt it's worth it for U&L. Plagiarism has never been much of an issue.
It might be more useful to have it check for plagiarism in tag wikis, but again, that doesn't happen very often either.

The project is to check plagiarism on SE sites. stackapps.com/questions/7197/…

2:55 PM
AU might be a better target.

@terdon Dang, we need a AU mod then. :p

Heh

@terdon brilliant, in a bit

Those are word for word dupes though. The system already raises an automatic flag for them.

@terdon Ah, yes. This was done keeping meta.stackexchange.com/questions/274553/… in mind

@BhargavRao I have to get back to work now. I've flagged those two asking the other mods not to delete. Just let me know when you've finished testing and I'll clear the associated flags.

@terdon I'm done
You can clear those

2:59 PM
Oh. That was quick :)

3 API calls :P
Cya @terdon, thanks!

OK, askubuntu.com/a/85695 is now deleted.

The issue is, SE Api returns only the top 10 related posts. If it returned more, we could do better stuff
